A moment in 2026 I'm really proud of 🥹.

I'm so delighted to share that I'm featured in the first issue of Hershe Emerald Zine, Breaking The Mould ✨ - link to the full Zine in my bio 😁.

Earlier this year I was invited to share my story as part of a magazine celebrating women and their journeys.

I spoke about my early love for writing and finding my way into filmmaking, to becoming a mother, challenging expectations, identity and learning to find my own voice.

Breaking The Mould brings together 4 very different women, each reflecting on the experiences, choices and challenges that have shaped their lives. So please don't stop at my pages! The other women featured have shared stories well worth reading too.

Thank you to @hershe_emerald_group & @sevenwindscic 🙏🏾.

Here's to breaking the mould, finding our voices and continuing to become who we choose to be! 🥂💫👏🏾❤️ by @being_bukola

Closing Out June 2026 feeling chuffed 🥰

THANK YOU! @onyxbyleesha for gifting me with these lovely headshots. I really love them and I'm so grateful to have new shots I can use across my website and professional work ☺️✨.

The past couple of months have been full on, in the best kind of way. I've made great progress on the documentary (From Detention To Despair), spent time in rooms with inspiring people, had conversations that have stayed with me and connections I'm looking forward to building on.

Here's to the months ahead. I hope they are filled with purpose, good people and more reasons to be grateful 😁🫶🏾 taken in The Film and TV Charity by @being_bukola

Yesterday was another one of those days that reminds me why I keep going. Independent filmmaking really is a team effort, and I'm so proud that I have such a great team of people working on and contributing to this project.

A very special THANK YOU to our Director of Photography, Robin. It's rare to find someone who not only has the technical skill but also the patience and creativity to really understand the vision, and the kind of humour that's great to have on set. I'm genuinely grateful to have Robin on this journey.

A massive THANK YOU to @thenewblxck for so generously opening up the studio and creative space for us to conduct the interviews. They made the whole team feel incredibly welcome and gave us the perfect space to have these conversations.

And a huge THANK YOU to @ch3rish.cctv for bringing so much care, professionalism and calm to the day. It was great to have Cherish join us and I'm really looking forward to continuing the Momentum Programme we're both on with @weareparable.

We spent the day filming interviews for 'From Detention To Despair' documentary with clinical psychologist Dr Tosin Bowen-Wright and the other interview with educational psychologist Dr Chris Bagley. Although they approached the subject from different perspectives, their insights were remarkably aligned.

Together we explored what happens when children's behaviour is viewed with curiosity rather than judgement, how repeated sanctions can influence cognitive and emotional development, and how behaviour systems have evolved over time and are shaping the experiences of children, families and schools.

I know these conversations are going to become an important part of the documentary.

Sometimes a single introduction can open the door to a whole new community. A few months ago, I was introduced to @stevii_campbell the founder of a creative network and production company, @sevenwindscic

What started as a conversation about the documentary I'm developing quickly became a fascinating discussion about storytelling, impact, and the kinds of narratives that deserve to be heard.

That conversation led to an invitation to be interviewed for @hershe_emerald_zine, a digital magazine bringing together women from diverse backgrounds to share their lived experiences, insights, and journeys.

I had the pleasure of attending one of the network's mixer events at Brixton House, and it was such an inspiring evening. I met an incredible group of women doing meaningful work across different industries, each with their own unique story, perspective, and expertise.

I love being in spaces like this. There's something powerful about being in a room full of people who are committed to creating, building, leading, and lifting others as they rise. I'm excited to be part of these conversations, to learn from this community, and to explore future opportunities together.

Thank you, @stevii_campbell, for the invitation, the warm welcome, and for creating spaces where connection, creativity, and collective growth can thrive 👏🏾✨🙏🏾 taken in Brixton House by @being_bukola

I had the privilege of filming Reasoning in the Park for @beyondbarzcic ⛓️‍💥

The event brought together a group of INCREDIBLE women who have either lost their sons to knife crime or have experienced prison and have since gone on to build positive, successful lives for themselves. It was a safe space for connection, encouragement, and sharing stories that can inspire others facing similar challenges, whether personally or through a loved one.

We also heard from a couple of men doing important work in the community by using their lived experience as the vehicle to stay connected to young people.

As someone who has experienced being imprisoned as a teenager, it's organisations like this that make me love what I do so much more. I found it genuinely moving to witness the strength, resilience, and support within this community. A huge thank you to @reasoning_with_empresslei and everyone involved for allowing me to capture such an important event.

Looking forward to editing the full project and continuing to follow and be a part of the amazing work @beyondbarzcic is doing 👏🏾🥹⛓️‍💥💯❤️ by @being_bukola

I'm still processing how exciting this week has been 🥹

Thrilled to officially share that I’m part of the Momentum 2026 cohort with @weareparable 🎬✨

From the launch at @channel4 to the breakfast session at the Film and TV Charity, it’s already been such a great experience connecting with other amazing filmmakers, writers and creatives passionate about telling important stories and building sustainable careers in the industry.

I take my mental health and wellbeing seriously, as we all should, and I really appreciate that wellbeing is built into the programme. In an industry that can be intense and overwhelming at times, that feels really thoughtful.

Feeling inspired, grateful and excited for everything ahead.

Massive thank you to The Momentum team at @weareparable for the opportunity.

Thank you to @_ash_clark for gifting all 30 members with his book "The World of Black Film" and @adidasuk
for gifting us all with a pair of new kicks 🎁

And thank you to @channel4skills @sonypicturestv for recognising how important it is to champion this programme. It's certainly going to go a long way 💫

We had such a successful day filming at Lilian Baylis Technology School for From Detention To Despair documentary.

We captured powerful and honest conversations on behaviour, inclusion, leadership and what young people truly need from school.

Grateful for the hospitality, warmth and kindness shown to us. It was great to interact with the students too, it certainly brought back a lot of memories 🥹❤️‍🩹.

This story is growing 🎥🎬💪🏾💫
