Hi friends! And a warm, cozy welcome if you’re new here.

Hi, I’m Jean! I started this little corner of the internet as a creative outlet during a season when I needed something just for me - motherhood. I’ve always believed that creativity is its own kind of self-care, but what I didn’t expect was how much joy and connection it would bring through this beautiful community.

Whether you’re here for the cozy home decor inspiration, gardening advice, or just the real-life moments - I’m so grateful you found your way here. Your presence truly makes this space what it is.

If you’re new, I’d love to get to know you! Drop a hello so I can welcome you personally!

Home decor content that isn’t just about buying more, doing more, or renovating constantly — that’s what I’ve spent these past few months figuring out.

Because after two years of doing this, I know I’m probably never going to be the creator constantly renovating rooms, doing a new DIY every week, or buying things just to have something new to post. (And absolutely zero hate, and all love to the creators who can do this!) That’s just not how I live.

I like keeping things for a long time. I like letting my home evolve slowly. I like beautiful things and, yes, I do like buying things. 😂

At my core, I’ll always be the home decor creator you already know. I’ll still share seasonal decorating, hosting, gardening, what I’ve bought and loved, and a good old-fashioned DIY.

I originally came on here to inspire you to make your home beautiful by showing you photos of ours. Now what I actually want is to help you figure out what YOU think is beautiful.

To develop your eye. Find your style. Collect things you love. Create a home that couldn’t belong to anyone else.

I don’t want your home to look like mine.

I want it to look like you.

Consider this my cozy home manifesto. 🤎

If you’re done with the algorithm and want to figure out your own style — or you already believe the best homes are cozy, collected, personal, and built over time — I think you’ll like it here. by @being_injeanuity

Hi, I’m Jean! And if we haven’t met yet, I’m so glad you’re here! 👋🏼

Whether you just found me or you’ve been here a while and we’ve never officially said hello - this one’s for you.

I’m a working mom, a homebody, a plant lover, a dog mom, and someone who believes deeply that finding joy in your everyday isn’t an indulgence. It’s how we survive and thrive.

I love sharing cozy home decor ideas, beginner gardening tips, and more generally - the kind of content that helps make it easier for you to find joy in the everyday despite the chaos (and especially through hard seasons)!

But more than anything - I’m here for the community. Your questions, your wins, your “I just unalived another plant- now what” moments. All of it.

So drop a 👋🏼 below and tell me - how long have you been here, and what brought you to my little corner of the internet? I would love to know! by @being_injeanuity

If you’re searching “when to put up the Christmas tree” or wondering if November is too early — this is your sign that the answer is: whenever it brings YOU joy.

Because when it comes to joy, there are no rules.

Putting up my @kingofchristmas tree (gifted 🎄) is the beginning of a season I love creating for my family — and sharing with you.

Whenever you’re ready, whether you decorate every corner or just add a little twinkle, I hope it feels like yours. The timing, the colors, the amount of bows you use 😂 -you get to decide.

Here’s to a cozy home and a Christmas that makes you happy. ✨

Send this to someone who needs permission to start early — and follow @being_injeanuity for slow seasonal decorating that looks like you.

So tell me: are you team November, or team after Thanksgiving? 🎄

If there’s one thing I love almost as much as Christmas decorating, it’s putting a bow on absolutely everything!

🎀 Welcome to Day 1 of the 12 Days of Bows-mas!

I’ve been making bows for years, but for this series, I did what any reasonable person would do: spent an unreasonable amount of time researching bow-making techniques. Some are tried-and-true favorites, others are new to me, and we’re experimenting with different methods, materials, and crafts along the way!

Day 1: The Finger Bow 🎀

If you’ve ever struggled to make those perfect little Christmas bows, try this technique!

All you need is ribbon and your fingers. No bow maker, fancy tools, or special skills required.

This method works especially well with narrow ribbon (under 1.5 inches, although if you have tiny hands like me, you might want to go smaller 😂). I recommend wired ribbon for more structure but non wired is good too!

It’s perfect for making little bows for ornaments, wreaths, gift wrapping, or Christmas tree decorations.

Over the next 12 episodes, we’re trying all kinds of ways to make and use bows—from the classics to some fun, unexpected crafts. Because apparently, I believe everything can be improved with a bow.

Save this tutorial for your holiday crafting, and follow @being_injeanuity for all 12 Days of Bows-mas! 🎄

Tell me: what bow do you want to see me make?

One last little tour of my cozy, witchy, Practical Magic–inspired Halloween home 🎃🕯️

Our 1927 house turned Owens house for one more night — candlelight in every corner, vintage Halloween touches, dried flowers, and all the whimsical magic I could tuck into these old rooms. This season went by too fast.

I loved crafting and decorating with you, and I hope you found a little inspiration for your own cozy home. It was so much fun to create alongside you. More than the decor, though, I love getting to turn our home into memories for my daughter — the glow she’ll remember long after the pumpkins are gone. That’s the real magic of a seasonal home. 🖤

Wishing you a Halloween full of sweet moments worth remembering. Save this for next October, and send it to someone who believes a house should feel a little bit enchanted. ✨

And follow along, because I can’t wait to bring you more magic this Christmas season. 🎄🕯️

A few Halloween details around the house that I almost forgot to share.

Little corners of cozy Halloween decor deserve their moment, too. A little witchy, a little nostalgic, and still very much our home.

I love Christmas decorating an unreasonable amount. 🎄✨

For me, it’s fun. It’s creative. It’s my outlet. It genuinely brings me joy.

But just because I go all out doesn’t mean you have to.

Your Christmas can be simple, over-the-top, handmade, collected slowly, or full of the same decorations you’ve loved for years.

Buy what you love. Use what you have. Make the thing. Skip the thing.

The goal isn’t to have the most impressive Christmas.

It’s to have one that feels like yours. ✨

Save this as your permission slip to decorate for joy, not approval.

Which Christmas “rule” are you ghosting this year? 👻

Last-minute Halloween decor, but make it cozy 🕯️🖤

I love decorating for Halloween, but a few little touches can bring the magic to your bedroom.

I started with my Olive & Crate TENCEL™ Lyocell Eucalyptus Cooling Sheet Set in Taupe Sand and Breathable All-Season Bamboo Comforter in Charcoal. The warm neutrals and dark comforter made the perfect base for a little Halloween mood.

Then came warm lighting and paper bats—just trace a bat shape onto black construction paper, cut them out, and hang them up. Simple, inexpensive, and easy to pack away when Halloween is over. 🦇

Save this for a last-minute Halloween touch in your cozy home! 🎃

DIY Mod Podge ghosts with tiny flower bouquets! 👻💐 A cute, easy Halloween craft using @modpodgecrafts Stiffy, a torn thrifted vintage napkin, and things I already had around the house.

Because apparently even my ghosts need flowers. 😂

👻 SUPPLIES:

* Mod Podge Stiffy Fabric Stiffener
* Vintage napkin or lightweight fabric
* Salt and pepper shaker or disposable champagne glass for ghost body
* Floral foam balls for heads
* Play-Doh or clay and straws for arms
* Plastic wrap (optional)
* Paint pen and tiny flowers

✨ HOW TO MAKE:

1. Build your form: Top a shaker or champagne glass with a floral foam ball.
2. Add arms: Use Play-Doh to attach pieces of straw to the form.
3. Drape: Cover the form with plastic wrap, saturate your fabric with Mod Podge Stiffy, and drape over the form. Shape the folds and arms, making sure the base is well saturated.
4. Dry: Let stiffen for 24 hours, then carefully remove the form.
5. Decorate: Draw on a face and add a tiny bouquet!

I love that this upcycled Halloween DIY gave a damaged vintage napkin a second life. 🤍

Beginner gardeners, here’s a fall gardening tip you don’t want to miss! 🌹🍂

Fall isn’t just for garden cleanup. Depending on your growing zone, it can actually be one of the best times to plant roses!

Here in my Northern California home (Zone 9b), our mild winters and seasonal rains make fall a great time to plant. Cooler temperatures help newly planted roses establish their roots before the heat of summer.

I’m adding two gorgeous roses to my cottage garden this fall, gifted by @heirloomroses:

🌸 Parfuma® Summer Romance — lush, romantic pink blooms.

🍑 Lady of Shalott — beautiful apricot roses that I can’t wait to use in floral arrangements.

A quick note on growing zones: Fall planting is especially beneficial in Zones 7–10, where the ground generally stays workable longer. If you’re in Zones 3–6, spring is often a safer choice for planting roses, especially once the ground starts freezing. Always check your local frost dates and planting conditions!

One of my favorite things about gardening is that you’re often planting for a season you haven’t experienced yet.

Because sometimes the secret to a beautiful spring garden is what you do in the fall. 🤍

Save this fall place card idea for the guest who notices the little details. 🧹✨

My favorite cozy home decor details are the ones that make people feel welcome. These mini floral witch brooms are part place card, part party favor, and part tiny wish for the person sitting at your table.

Start with a mini cinnamon broom, then layer on dried flowers and herbs. Trader Joe’s mini cinnamon brooms make a sweet shortcut if you can find them. Tie on your guest’s name, and write their wish on the back.

Choose your floral broom formula:

💜 Peace
Lavender + rosemary + statice

✨ Courage
Thyme + globe thistle + lavender

🤍 Love
Strawflower + statice + lavender

🌿 Strength
Globe thistle + rosemary + thyme

🌼 Joy
Oregano + strawflower + lavender

This is what I love about seasonal decorating: the chance to make someone feel like you thought of them before they even arrived.

A name at the table.
A wish to take home.

Save these floral broom formulas for your next Halloween or fall tablescape, and follow for cozy home decor, seasonal decorating, and floral DIYs that make home feel like you.

Thanks to my friend @busy_bloomin for these beautiful dried flowers!
