One night, a woman looks through the holes in the clouds and sees the Cosmos looking back. SIGNAL — 27 Nov & 5 Dec, 8 pm Théâtre Porte 9, Montreuil EN with FR subtitles Tickets / Réservations: link in bio by @being_liliya
Liliya Burdinskaya is a choreographer, dancer, writer and movement philosopher who explores the body as a language of time. Trained in both classical and contemporary dance, she studied at the Legat Ballet School and London Contemporary Dance School at The Place in the United Kingdom. During her training, she danced in projects by Merce Cunningham and Trisha Brown, and later worked as a soloist with National Dance Company of Wales / Diversions. In Saint Petersburg, Liliya founded and directed the contemporary dance centre Bye-Bye Ballet, which became an important platform for contemporary dance, performance, music and interdisciplinary artistic practice. She later founded Liliya Burdinskaya Dance Company, for which she created more than twenty choreographic works. Her piece The Decomposition of the Atom opened Teodor Currentzis’s Diaghilev Festival in Perm, and her work David, created in dialogue with the world of David Lynch, was described by critics as “the best invitation into the world of Lynch.” Liliya is a winner of the choreographers competition at the Context. Diana Vishneva festival and has worked as a guest choreographer with the Perm Opera and Ballet Theatre and the Plovdiv Opera and Ballet Theatre. Her artistic practice has developed through collaborations with major figures and institutions, including Teodor Currentzis and MUSICАETERNA, Diana Vishneva, Austrian director Jacqueline Kornmüller, composer Alexey Retinsky, composer Andreas Mustukis, and international interdisciplinary projects such as Manifesta 13 and Ganymed. Her text The Nest, dedicated to her bodily practice, was presented as part of the Ganymed project in major museums in Vienna. Liliya’s movement language is rooted in rigorous technique — classical ballet, Cunningham and Limón — and deeply influenced by the work of Ohad Naharin and Benoît Lachambre. In her teaching and choreographic practice, she treats dance as a readable language of gestures, weight, form, attention and time. by @being_liliya

Save the dates. During the rehearsal period it is challenging for me to write about the work. I write when i no longer one body with work. NUE is still under my skin. In my night dreams and day dreams, in the background of other things, in the front row in the moments of solitude. I am captured in the world of Esther. It's a wonderful world full of silver, glimpses, rays of light, water, black butterflies, clear glass, blueberries and love. What do you imagine when i say "love"? Come. by @being_liliya
LILIYA BURDINSKAYA "You cut off my arm, right? I say 'me and my arm.' You cut off my other arm. I say 'me and my two arms.' ... And now, if you cut off my head; would I say, 'me and my head,' or 'me and my body'? What right has my head to call itself 'me?'" Roland Torpor The Tenant. Hambre de Hambre (Hunger of Hunger) is a night of performances that examine the question of what is the body and what right does the body have to claim the self. Through five distinct solos the audience will experience selfhood dissolve and the borders between body and others come alive. Through butoh and contemporary performance the performers will explore intimacy, love, ferocity, and ethereal connection. The hunger of the body will come to claim its right to the stage consuming the performers and the audience entwined. Performers include: Sofya Shaikut (butoh) @sofya_shaikut Liliya Burdinskaya (contemporary) @being_liliya Maria Nolé (butoh) @desiertoceano Lulu (performance) @_saralulu_ Zil Ricker (butoh) @zildollabill Date: August 28th Performance time: 20:00 Location: @theatre.pool Theater Pool, Uhr, Boxhagener Str. 18, 10245 Berlin Tickets: 15-25.
