The new Being Freelance art print is available now!

Freelancing can be quite a ride, but it’s more fun together.

The Freelance Rollercoaster has been created by illustrator @rubberpenguin who shared his freelancing story on the BF podcast earlier this year.

Little did he know he’d be finishing off 2024 with this.

I love it. I hope you do too.
And it’s helping raise funds for UNICEF. 🙌

Thanks to Dan Bailey aka Rubber Penguin for such incredible work.

You’re not alone being freelance.

Especially when you join in with virtual coworking sessions.

And you can try it for free with me and a graceful grid of freelancer faces this October.

DM me for details of our bonus public sessions for Freelance Business Month.

Productive and fun.

New podcast episode has launched!! 🚀

Quick back story to this video:

Rob took the kids to Legoland for a fun day out over the summer holidays and then dropped about *3 x times the price of the tickets* on this absolutely bonkers, Bezos-style is-it-a-rocket-or-is-it-a-🍆 on the way out!! 🤣

Anyway, search DIFTK wherever you get your podcasts because it's actually a great episode about turning side hustles into full-time gigs (or not? 👀) by @beingfreelance

Dinner with BFFs (Being Freelance Friends) ahead of @lizmmosley’s live podcast

Content Content. B Roll

With Ingrid @herlegals (have you caught our bonus BF Podcast or video about AI legal traps for freelancers?). And you can see @byemiliechen in the left background - Emilie was on the Being Freelance podcast earlier this year, so lovely to meet last night. Also @mr_bingstagram in pink getting swarmed after his brilliantly fun chat with @lizmmosley

On our way to the live podcast - @ange_lyons really is great and remembering to take photos. If it were left to me you’d just some random pigeon that caught my eye.

With @lizmmosley after her live podcast - Liz is a really great interviewer - a packed room full of the loveliest people

The Non Employee Of The Week is Rebecca Salvatore AKA @happytailscomms 🥳🐶🐴

Becky worked on renaming and rebranding her business during our Being Freelance Mastermind calls last year - The Cookie Collective - so I had the pleasure of spending extra time hearing about her business and watching the dedication it takes to turn these things around.

I love the way she lives and breathes her niche - with years of knowledge and passion for it. That also comes out in her marketing. Rebecca also puts herself where her clients are, often attend the same trade shows of the pet/equine/vet world.

Thanks for being an awesome BFF in the community and congrats on the win! 🏆 🍪 by @beingfreelance

How to get freelance clients.

Here’s 5 tips to get your first clients as a freelancer - although they ring true whenever you need work over the years.

At the heart of it all is PEOPLE.
And you making an effort to get to know them and tell them what you do, to be helpful.

If you’re new to freelancing check out my course ‘How to get started being freelance’ - and join us in the Being Freelance Community, so you’re surrounded by others who get it.

For more freelance tips and self employed business stories check out the podcast - so much to learn and be reassured by, hearing from others finding work and finding a way to make it work for them.

Good luck!

Spent last Friday smiling a lot at the @coworkcrew London event at @workdotlife - such a good day!

I was there under the guise of speaking about work life balance - something I love to ask my Being Freelance podcast guests about. But I also stuck around to help them eat the large quantities of cake they had.

And then stuck around for lunch. Oh and to work because I found myself on the best table with new folks to meet.

And then stuck around chatting to them and BFFs like Molly, @ange_lyons @ralphc_45 @phiehackett and @elinorgarfield @beehive_green AND THEN stuck around to make sure the pub everyone chose was okay.

Hey. Anytime.

Big thanks to Molly and Ange for hosting. And @allcopymel for sneaking photos of my talk.

Still smiling about it a week later. Makes a big difference when you’re freelancing from home - being in real life company for the day. 🙏🍰 taken in Work Life Holborn by @beingfreelance

Flipping love a sunflower. The farmer who grows these, is busy planting seeds every week from March.. so they’re permanently growing, reaching the point of harvest when he needs them.

We need to do this too. Don’t stop sowing freelancing seeds - make it a weekly activity (not easy when you’re busy) so there’s a nice field of leads cropping up for you to harvest 🌻
