POSTS STORIES REELS

I wanted to show a quick little B&A of my skin , (yes I know the lighting is off, left was in bathroom light in March and right was taken yesterday with sunlight shining through the window , but NO FILTER, make up)bc Ive been getting a lot of questions lately about what my skin care routine is. As the weather changes, our skin can get a little unhappy with our old routines and may require a little extra TLC. I will tell you it’s NOT a one size fits all , what works for me doesn’t mean it will work for you
Before u ask, 55 years old , no lasers or facial surgery (yet), have had an adequate amount of sun exposure in my life, a 6 month stent of chemotherapy/radiation 20 years ago( exponentially fast tracking aging), never smoked. There will never be any gatekeeping around here and I love to share and educate when I can.

It is also not ONLY about what I put on topically, it’s a routine capturing MANY routes.
The SKIN CAN”T OUTPERFORM inadequate nutrition, lack of exercise (strength training specifically thank you @cassclassfitness ) or failing hormones. Of course we know Injectables are AMAZING, (here I had 2 rounds of Sculptra in between pics, also offered at Bella Cara ..thank you @injectorcourtney for helping with this part of my beauty routine 🥰 and to @skin.smartie.np for educating me in ALL things sculptra! You are a QUEEN!!! )but I was asked by several of you recently to specifically list my most recent skin care routine so here it is:

AM
• Prequel Glycolic Wash (by @drsamanthaellis Now in target)
•CE ferulic (skin ceuticals offered at Bella Cara)
•Ptox serum (skin ceuticals offered at Bella Cara)
•triple lipid / Ptox cream (skin ceuticals offered at Bella Cara)or colorscience sunscreen/skin tint IF I’m outside

PM
•Prequel glycolic wash
•Coleman compound CC brightening pads by @mrs.derm . These are amazing!!! My girlfriend Julie (@foundbyjewels ) turned me on to these and I LOVE!!!
•tretinoin .025%
If my skin is more dry I’ll use the Ptox cream or triple lipid cream over this.

For those of you who were asking I hope this helps. Lmk if you have any other questions , ask away!! You know I love chatting about all things beauty

The south has captured my heart in a way I least expected. If you don’t want your child headed to the south don’t let them visit ole miss. They won’t want to leave. There is something so sweet about the storybook charm of this little community. It feels like home. Such a fun 5 days with my girl getting to explore her town through her eyes:
Loaded Tea, (good Lord what’s in that anyway) a walk in South Lamar park, Sorority Gala and a night out at Donuts with the girls, pics at the sorority house, tailgate at The Grove, lunch at Velvet, Pilates and coffee at The Lost Dog. It was perfect and filled this mama heart right up!!
Until next time 💙❤️ #hottytoddy by @bellacara_shellyrn

This makes my heart so happy!!❤️ Building a relationship with patients is more important than we give credit to. Sometimes it’s SO hard for a patient to trust the process of dissolving before filling again. As providers it’s our job to earn that trust with our patients. No pressure, no persuading, just educate.

Nothing makes me happier than when it becomes their idea. We made a plan, dissolved the filler that had been placed in what appears to have been above her vermillion border , creating a heaviness that her natural lip couldn’t support. We waited a little over a week and filled targeting the body of the lip instead… of course with my FAVORITE filler for the lips, RHA2 💉

I knowwwwww don’t hate me. But it’s time!!! Booking ahead will be less stressful for all of us (mostly me bc you know I’ll get you in….) books are open!!!Can’t wait to see you all!! 🎄♥️✨

To all my injector friends during our Super Bowl ‘season’ 💉 🫠 💪🏼 Godspeed 😘 xoxo by @bellacara_shellyrn

Soft, subtle improvements is what 90% of my patients want. We’ve shy’d away from overfilling faces with filler, we want refined, not puffy. I have dissolved more filler in faces of new patients this past year than I have in 13 years of practice. But it doesn’t have to be that way!! Less is ALWAYS more when treating the face, and we can still create a soft almost undetectable enhancement with HA fillers. In my practice I mostly reach for the Revance line, my FAVORITE the last 3 years.

Guess how many syringes were used to soften this beauty’s lower face?

✨SCULPTRA: BEYOND COLLAGEN STIMULATION
EMERGING SCIENCE OF ADIPOSE TISSUE REGENERATION LOOKS PROMISING✨

Sculptra is a biostimulator made of poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) that works by triggering a localized tissue response, stimulating fibroblasts to produce new collagen.

As the PLLA particles gradually break down, your body builds its own collagen, progressively improving skin firmness, structure, and volume.
Emerging research also suggests PLLA may stimulate adipogenesis (new fat-cell formation), potentially contributing to tissue restoration beyond collagen alone! AMAZING!!!!

This is not in place of HA filler, they work to improve skin integrity in completely different ways. Sculptra is one to be patient with… the results are not instant and can take a few months after a couple treatments to see a difference but once you try it you’ll be hooked! And yes… I have this in my face too😉 (thank you @injectorcourtney ♥️)

Thank you Michelle @syringe_science for always nerding out with us, sharing the latest data on ALL the ways to age in reverse. You’re the best!!🤓😘

Tuesday morning I woke up to the realization that I’M 55 YEARS OLD! I knew my bd was approaching but the number seemed big this year. Idk why 35 still seems to be the age that sticks in my head, but 55? It doesn’t seem real. I took this pic, no makeup, raw, post workout in my garage bc my heart is SO full and if I wait for a perfectly posed , aesthetically pleasing, curated snap shot it will never happen. I’m eternally grateful for this community of women (AND men) who have been in the thick of it with me in my journey to health, (physical/emotional)of motherhood, being a wife, a nurse, a friend, a daughter and sister… You have encouraged me, motivated me, and have made me want to continue to be better every day🥹

For those that feel like 40 is ‘over the hill’, or that once you hit a certain age you can slow down or even stop doing what makes you feel good (strong/healthy/rested), OR feel they have reached the point of no return where everything you do seems to be completely ineffective THIS is the time to ramp it up! Before we know it we will be 60, 70 and 80 years old and what we are doing today will prepare us for what is yet to come. It’s not too late to start! At 52 I was 40 lbs heavier with much less strength(muscle) on me. My hormones went sideways quickly, my motivation disappeared and discipline? Well I didn’t much care about it. I had numbed myself out to ‘life’ in a way. It’s not an easy journey, It’s work!!! And there is no one size fits all in this arena. Nor is there an instant fix. What worked for me might not work for you but start with one thing that can help make a difference, and the rest will follow.

If you need help knowing where to start, or people to ‘follow’ for workouts/health, nutrition ideas, hormonal health I’m happy to share. Pick your non negotiables and let that be your driving force. That’s where the discipline kicks in.

So Thank you… thank you for all the beautiful bd messages (I am still responding to). Thank you for your friendship/ mentorship. I am truly overwhelmed, and hoping that this will encourage someone out there to get moving and change your bad habits today.
Love you all🤍xo by @bellacara_shellyrn

Such a fun little transformation with this gorgeous beauty . A little hydration, a little symmetry, a little volume ….and RHA2 does it again🔥

•Getting to treat the faces of the women I adore will never be something I take lightly. There’s something incredibly special about being trusted not only as an injector, but as a friend… To sit in my chair and allow me to enhance something so personal , all while getting a chance to catch up on life, means more to me than anything.

•A little hydration, structure, and definition can make such a beautiful difference while still looking completely natural. RHA2 was the perfect ‘ingredient’ for this transformation. Swelling will go down in a couple days and they’ll be perfection 🔥

•Always So grateful for the trust of my patients… but especially the ones who know me beyond the treatment room. 🤍

This gorgeous patient came to me after experiencing nodules and irregular texture from previous lip filler. We first dissolved the old product to create a clean foundation, then carefully rebuilt her lips using RHA 2 for a softer, smoother, more natural result.

Technique matters.Product selection matters. It’s never a one size fits all when it comes to lips (or ANY facial aesthetics). Sometimes the best outcomes come from taking a step back before moving forward. 💉 👄

Sometimes the smallest treatments create the most beautiful balance.
For this beauty, I treated the depressor septi nasi muscle at the base of the nose to allow the nasal tip to gently lift and relax when smiling. Such a small detail — but such a pretty difference.

This is why I love aesthetics…. We get to be creative, make the tiniest tweaks that can make the biggest impact for our patients 🤍

#Daxxify #NasalTipLift #LipAndNoseBalance #aestheticnurse #beforeandafter by @bellacara_shellyrn

This beautiful patient came to me with a very common concern: mid/lower face volume loss. Treatment : the full Revance portfolio — combining Daxxify + the entire RHA collection to create soft, natural facial balancing while preserving movement and expression.
Rather than treating just one area, we approached her face comprehensively:
▫️facial balancing
▫️structural support
▫️lower face rejuvenation
▫️dynamic movement preservation
▫️softening lines while maintaining natural expression

But beyond these products and technique… I just want to say how incredibly honored I am every time a patient places this level of trust in me. This patient has been absolutely amazing throughout the process — kind, trusting, patient, and fully committed to the journey. The relationships and trust that are formed in my chair mean EVERYTHING to me.
Aesthetic medicine is so much more powerful (and humbling) than syringes and anatomy. It’s vulnerability. Trust. Partnership. It’s someone allowing you to help them feel more confident while still looking completely like themselves I will never take that for granted
So grateful for patients like her who allow me to do what I love every single day. 🤍
