Bell & Bird Diamond Hobnail Necklace⁠

Many years ago, while walking in London, we encountered a unique Victorian era landscape chain that inspired the details of our signature design. Each link is handwrought in solid 18 karat gold. Individual hobnails are precisely shaped on a lathe and individually assembled. Over 250 hours of meticulous benchwork go into creating a complete necklace. ⁠

One of our signature cutaway designs. This ring features a unique set of uniform old mine-cut diamonds. It often takes months to collect a suite of stones in the correct size, color, and clarity. This ring features approximately 4.40 carats in total diamond weight, set in 18k gold. ⁠

This design is inspired by a labor-intensive setting technique common in 18th and 19th century rings. The technique is true to the rings that inspired this design. ⁠

19th Century French Diamond Pendant, France, circa 1880. A beautifully layered jewel, shaped and reimagined over time. The central diamond cluster dates to the late 19th century, with the remainder of the pendant added during the first half of the 20th century and a possibly later bail. French import poinçon marks.⁠

Bell & Bird Eternity Band No. 3853⁠

A modern interpretation of an antique technique, this domed diamond band features a cobblestone pavé surface. Each of the 108 irregularly shaped diamonds carries its own subtle character, a trace of the human hand that first shaped it over 100 years ago. Each reclaimed stone is set in silver-topped gold to enhance its natural sparkle; the stones form a surface with texture and shifting light. Though the arrangement appears spontaneous, it reflects over one hundred hours of meticulous setting work. This band is a study in patience. Collectively, the stones weigh approximately 6.5 carats. ⁠

Made by us in our Texas workshop, it is handcrafted in our signature blend of 18K rose gold, affectionately called “Old Gold.” This distinctive shade has a richer, slightly deeper tone than modern rose gold, giving it a timeless quality that pairs beautifully with antique pieces. While our signature styles are repeated, our hand-fabricated process, paired with carefully curated stones, results in a truly one-of-a-kind ring. Intricated gold medallion lockets, depicting a bee motif with white enamel details. The original frame and glass are intact. ⁠

Insect motifs are among the most enchanting themes in Victorian jewelry, reflecting the era's fascination with nature, symbolism, and the exotic. Crafted in enamel, gold, and gemstones, these delicate creations married scientific curiosity with romantic sentiment, a token of Victorian design. Butterflies embodied transformation and the soul; bees symbolized diligence; and flies, such unexpected little jewels, were cherished as whimsical novelties. By the late nineteenth century, public fascination with the natural world had reached a peak. The opening of London's Museum of Natural History in the 188os offered the public their first close encounter with rare species. In this spirit of discovery, jewelers captured tiny wonders of the natural world, transforming fleeting creatures into enduring works of art.⁠
