Grief in the Meadow, is officially a published book 🤍

I sincerely want to thank everyone who was a part of this Journey.
From a story I had saved in my note pad, to a live children’s book. One day, when I’m no longer earthbound, my dad will still live on.

Did you know butterflies rest when it rains because it damages their wings? It’s okay to rest during the storms of life. You’ll fly again when it’s over. 🦋 by @bellaspero

Well Mr. Perry it’s been 8 years of loving you, and 1 year of officially being your wife🥹💍 I’d choose you over and over again, in every lifetime. Through all the ups and downs, the laughter, the adventures, (the time I signed you up for the circus) and everything in between, I love you forever my honey 🤍 by @bellaspero

You are not a burden. You are not too much. You are not alone.

If today feels heavy, please know that this moment is not your whole story. There are people who care about you, people who would want to sit beside you in the darkness, and chapters of your life you haven’t reached yet.

You don’t have to have all the answers. You don’t have to be strong every second of every day. Sometimes, simply staying is enough.

Please keep going. Please reach out. Please give tomorrow a chance.

And if no one has told you lately, I’m glad you’re here 🤍

This September, let’s remind each other that struggling doesn’t mean you’re weak and asking for help doesn’t mean you’re a burden. You deserve support. You deserve hope. You deserve to be here. by @bellaspero

The Villager 🏡

They always know where to find me.

When their houses burn
they run to my door.

When their hearts split open
they bring the pieces to my hands
like I am meant to know
how to put everything back together.

And I do.

I mend their storms.
I carry their grief like water in my mouth
so it doesn’t drown them.

They call it strength.

But strength is just a prettier word
for the person
who was never allowed to fall apart.

I have learned to sit still
while the world pulls at me.

One version of me listens.
One version forgives.
One version swallows every sharp word
and lets it live inside my ribs.

And somewhere behind them
there is another one.

The quiet one.
The one who sees everything.

She watches the village come and go
with their empty hands
and their endless hunger.

Always taking.

She watches them drink
from the well of my chest
until the rope scrapes bone.

She knows something
the others are only beginning to understand:

Villages do not love their wells.

They only love the water.

So I sit here,
split into ghosts of myself,
while the town sleeps peacefully
on the strength of my silence.

And one day,
when the well finally runs dry

I wonder

who they will run to
when the villager breaks.

The Ugly Duckling 🦢

There was a little girl
they called the ugly duckling
not by strangers,
but by family,
the ones whose words are supposed to feel like shelter.

They said it casually,
like a joke passed at the table,
like something she’d outgrow.
They laughed and added,
“At least you’re smart.”
As if intelligence were a consolation prize
for not being beautiful.

She learned early
how to shrink at her own her reflection,
how to find safety in books and thoughts,
how to earn praise instead of expect love.
She learned that worth could be measured
in usefulness.

And still
she noticed everything.
The way kindness skipped her name.
The way beauty was handed out like inheritance.
The way love came with conditions
she was never told she could refuse.

Years passed.
The duckling grew.
Not into what they imagined,
but into someone who could see clearly
someone who knew how cruelty disguises itself
as honesty,
how small hearts fear what they cannot control.

She stood one day
and finally understood:

She was never ugly.
Not then.
Not ever.

It was their hearts
that couldn’t recognize beauty
unless it looked like them.
