“It’s heartbreaking.”💔

Health spending now accounts for around a third of South Australia’s budget, with $1.7 billion allocated over five years to meet rising demand.

However, local advocacy groups say the budget falls short — criticising the lack of investment in independent disability advocacy and community mental health supports amid major federal NDIS cuts.

891 ABC Adelaide’s Sonya and Jules put concerns from disability advocate Belle Owens to South Australia’s Treasurer, Tom Koutsantonis, who said the issue had been misunderstood.

“I think Belle misunderstood what I was saying. What I am saying is that people are being taken off the NDIS with no pathway to any other program and that concerns me,” he said.

“Those people are more closer to South Australian services than Commonwealth services, and South Australian taxpayers will be picking up the bill.”

A couple of weeks ago @emerrr and I got the chance to stay at @crowneplazaadelaidemawsonlakes before it opened to the public. We were invited to provide feedback on the restaurant , amenities and the accessibility of the room. The cauliflower steak was incredible, I can’t wait to get back there. It’s been a weird few weeks with surprise surgeries and disrupted routines and canceled plans so I’m putting Ben’s birthday weekend on the grid.
