In 2009, we adopted a little fluffball who had been rescued from a factory site.
Today, that little pup turns 17. 🤍

My Bailey.
My majestic, strong, big, sweet, silly, fluffy boy.

You are our protector, our wise old man, our gentle giant, and the most wonderful big brother to Zulu, Anaida, and especially our angel Benjamin, who will forever be a part of our little family.

You have loved, protected, and shared your world with them in the most beautiful way.

You have been a part of my life for more than half of it, and I genuinely cannot imagine what my world would look like without you in it.

There is something so incredibly special about growing up alongside a dog.

They become part of your childhood, your growing pains, your happiest memories, your home, and eventually, a part of who you are.
And Bailey, you have been all of that and so much more to me.

To have watched you grow from that little rescued fluffball into the magnificent old boy you are today is a gift I will never take for granted.

What a privilege it is to grow older alongside the ones who make a house a home.
To know their little quirks, their favourite spots, their familiar faces, and the comfort of simply having them around. You don’t realise how deeply woven they are into the fabric of your life until you try to imagine a day without them.

Happy 17th birthday to my beautiful Bailey. And happy early 15th birthday to my darling Zulu and Anaida. 🤍
Bailey, you are a massive piece of my heart, my life, my childhood, and my home.
Thank you for these 17 years of unconditional love, for being our big boy, mums guard, Zulu and anaidas buddy , for being Benjamin’s brother, and for simply being you.

Seventeen years of you.
What an extraordinary blessing.

I wore my grandmother’s saree, and as always, it felt like carrying a little piece of her with me.

There’s something so special about wearing the clothes that belong to the women who came before me : my mum, my grandmum, my aunt.

Their stories, their choices, little bits of life, all woven into something I get to carry forward.

A couple of days after Benji passed away, Sean made sure we continued with a trip we had planned…. More over for us to be around people we love , and we headed to Tennessee to spend time with his family.

My heart was all over the place. Every quiet moment became a prayer. I kept talking to God, asking Him to take care of my sweet boy… and, if He could, to send me a sign that Benjamin was okay.

Then we looked up.

A bright, bold, vibrant, full double rainbow stretched across the entire sky…. two complete rainbows, side by side …. one for me and one for mom. 🌈🌈

If you knew Benji, you’d know one rainbow would’ve never been enough.
He always did everything with a little extra joy.

Maybe this wasn’t just a coincidence. It definitely wasn’t AI … maybe it was God’s gentle way of telling me that my boy is okay.

While I still make sense of it all… I choose to believe this was you, Benji.

Until we meet again, my beautiful boy. ❤️‍🩹

No special occasion … just got dressed up and felt like sharing ✨

I also tried a slick-back hair look, which is a little outside my comfort zone.
I’m usually the most comfortable (and honestly the most like myself) with my hair left loose, natural, and chaotic and effortless.

I thought I’d try something different.
I think there’s something really nice about that… allowing yourself to try things without needing them to be perfect or permanent.

It felt a little unfamiliar at first, but also kind of freeing in its own way.

A reminder that comfort zones are lovely, but sometimes it’s okay to wander just a little outside them and play with new versions of yourself 🤍
