Guess where I’m going?

Just recently we witnessed hurricane Isaias on the emerald coast. My heart is burdened for those who have been affected from the damage, yet my heart is full of hope seeing all of the help from the churches and communities, it’s been a time of thankfulness and standing in awe and wonder of the Creator of nature and the restorer of all things. His name is Jesus!

This time has reminded me that life is so short and no man can add one single hour to his life by worrying or striving.

Who gives us breath in our lungs each morning and sunshine each day to warm our hearts? Who makes the ocean tide come in and out, and gives us healing waters to restore our soul?

I’m reminded of a story of a fierce storm and a people so afraid of dying.

Jesus was suddenly woken up by terrified faces crying out for help, “Lord save us, we’re going to drown”.

He replied, You of little faith, why are you so afraid?” Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm.

The men were amazed and asked, “What kind of man is this? Even the winds and the sea obey Him.

Sometimes in the storms of life, it can feel like Jesus is just sleeping, so far away, rather unbothered by our circumstances, fears, and worries, yet it is not that he does not care or does not want to help. It is quite the opposite, it is that we have chosen to put our faith in our circumstances, rather than put our faith in God. The Holy Spirit is our helper, sent by God to guide and comfort us. “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble” Ps. 46:1

His slumber reminds me of His peace, His rest, and His authority over the storm. Even the winds and the waves obey Him.

Does creating art actually help heal my nervous system?
YES!! Studies show that just 45 minutes of creativity lowers stress hormones, independent of level of expertise, and significantly shifts your body into parasympathetic nervous system response which helps calm the body.

🎨 Art activates the parasympathetic nervous system, switching “flight or flight” stress response off
🎨 Significantly lowers cortisol (your stress hormone), slows heart rate and lowers blood pressure
🎨 Promotes brains reward system, releases dopamine which induces flow state

A lil project I’ve been working on, it’s been teaching me to slow down, embrace each line and curve, and enjoy the colors, just like in life, each twist and turn is part of process, so embrace the journey. #healing #art #creativity #bestillandknow by @belleblunier

Heyyy you!

You can do hard things! 2 years ago I could not run very far at all without pain 🤪 I’ve been on a wild journey with my health and I’ve had lots of ups and downs, but here we are now and I can run a 5k!! I also did a cold plunge and other fun fitness stuff! Training can be so hard but it can also be so much fun, so no matter where you’re at with your health journey, don’t give up! 😎💪🏼💪🏼

Consistency is key, choose to get 1% better every single day, it’s a daily rhythm. Work hard, play hard! No excuses!
