Calling all artists! 🎨

To celebrate Berry Week, Visit Bellevue, in collaboration with @BellevueArtsMuseum, is inviting artists of all ages to create original artwork inspired by Bellevue's official Yuru-Chara, Belle the Bobcat, and all things berry.

Whether you paint, draw, sculpt, crochet, create digital art, or work in another medium, we want to see your creativity come to life. Show us your unique interpretation of Belle and berries and help celebrate Bellevue's vibrant community during Berry Week!

Prizes
1st place: $20 @ladymcakes gift card, $40 BLICK art materials gift card 🎂

2nd place: $15 @itsmatchamagic gift card, $30 BLICK art materials gift card 🍵

3rd place: $10 @voodoodoughnut gift card, $20 BLICK art materials gift card 🍩

How to enter:
• Create original artwork featuring Belle the Bobcat and a berry-inspired element.
• Submit an image of your entry through the link in our bio by 11:59 PM (PT) on Sunday, July 26.
• Follow @VisitBellevue and @BellevueArtsMuseum on Instagram.

A few things to know:
• One entry per person.
• You may upload up to five photos of your artwork.
• Artwork must be family-friendly and reflect Bellevue's welcoming community spirit.
• Participants under 13 must have a parent or legal guardian submit their entry or provide consent.
• Additional contest rules and terms are available through the submission portal.

Community Showcase 👥🍓🫐
Every submission will be featured in the community gallery on our Berry Week webpage, where you can browse artwork from fellow artists throughout the contest. Selected entries may also be featured in future Berry Week promotions, including Visit Bellevue social media, marketing materials, press outreach, local news, and other community campaigns.

Winners will be selected during the week of July 27 following the conclusion of Berry Week and will be notified by email and announced on social media.

💖 What makes a tradition living?

It’s the people who continue to share it.

This year, we’re proud to introduce Living Traditions, a collection of cultural experiences that celebrate the artists, makers, educators, and community members who keep traditions alive across generations.

As part of her community project, Aleana set out to learn more about the stories behind these traditions and why they matter. Her curiosity is a reminder that culture isn’t something we simply preserve it’s something we experience, share, and pass on.

Grow the Garden 🌱

The first chapter of With Our Little Hands.

A collaborative canvas exploring how small actions and everyday gestures shape who we become and the communities we grow together.

Long before children understand who they are, they discover they can affect the world around them. A scribble transforms a blank page. A handprint leaves a trace. Each mark becomes evidence of a simple but powerful idea: I can cause change.

Over the course of the exhibition, each day’s collaborative canvas will be preserved, stretched, and transformed into a new painting—carrying the hands and stories of everyone who helped grow the garden.
