Last week I visited the stunning exhibit of Midcentury Modern design at Cranbrook Art Museum. Inspired by the famous quote by Cranbrook alumnus and teacher Charles Eames, “Eventually everything connects: people, ideas, objects,” the show displays innovations in design - many from Michigan. It’s a reminder that our state was an important hub for design in many fields of manufacturing during the last century.

For my birthday, we sought respite from the cold last month and took a tour inside @michigancentraldetroit. From all the media coverage, I knew the renovation was beautiful but seeing it in person was different! I had been in the building beforehand, so I knew how much had changed. Honestly, it’s staggering to see this jewel of Detroit brought back from the brink.
