Foggy Notions Presents
Dummy

Bello Bar, Dublin
Saturday 23rd January 2027

Tickets on sale Friday October 16th @ 10am www.foggynotions.ie

Dummy do you love the color of the sky? (Polyvinyl Record Co.)
There has long been an obsession with what the “future of music” looks like. How it will be constructed, perceived, analyzed, interacted with. So much brainpower is put into what’s next, because we always want to be one step ahead. Culturally prescient, enlightened, on the cutting edge. But what if you sidestep all that noise? What if a band, freed from the rat race and trendiness, embraces insularity to the point it somehow becomes the future? With do you love the color of the sky?, Dummy crafts the perfect anti-zeitgeist record, freezing you into their incorporeal moment of time.

If 2024’s Free Energy (and its subsequent remix album, Bubbelibrium DLC) evoked the spirit of Madchester and the optimism of the rave, then Dummy’s newest couches itself in a lyrical skepticism that recalls the best of post-rock and drone—think Seefeel, Windy and Carl, Laika, or Disco Inferno—while playfully adorned in jubilant pop hues of early Björk, The Sundays, and Madonna’s Ray of Light.

With songs that touch on Earth’s climate degradation (as heard on the propulsive album opener “April Limousine”), A.I. and the devaluation of art (on lead single “Full Spectrum Dominance”), and how we’ve been conditioned into accepting the surveillance state (on the penultimate album track “N of 1”), do you love the color of the sky? is their most politically trenchant record, and yet their most inviting. Breakbeats and the captivating voice of keyboardist Emma Maatman belie a sleight hand—as the listener becomes enveloped by Dummy’s unshakable grooves, they’ve subconsciously accrued a vision of a new radical politic. As Maatman expresses, “A.I. could not exist without the harvesting of our data and using all of humanity’s intellectual property and collective work.”

Don’t worry about the heavy themes though; DYLTCOTS? straight up rips. taken in Bello bar by @bellobardublin

low ticket warning! for Seamus Fogarty @ BelloBar Nov 19th www.foggynotions.ie

“MAGICAL JOURNEYS THROUGH FABLE AND MODERN LIFE & BACK AGAIN, OFTEN IN THE SAME SONG’ ★★★★★ – THE GUARDIAN
“THE GHOSTLY EMOTIONAL WALLOP OF THE TUNES WILL TAKE YOUR BREATH AWAY” ★★★★ – IRISH TIMES
“BY TURNS GRITTY AND POETIC... A REAL ORIGINAL” ★★★★ – THE OBSERVER

Seamus’s first new collection of music since 2023’s Hee Haw EP (featuring the Cillian Murphy acclaimed single ‘They Recognised Him’), Ships, released in March 2026, is his most expansive and uplifting collection of music to date. Channelling everything from Tortoise to early 90s hip hop, it’s packed with poignant and funny slice-of-life vignettes touching on love, loss, DIY coffins, cans on trains with strangers and so much more.

Written in the wake of his last album 2020’s A Bag Of Eyes, and road-tested while on tour with Lisa O’Neill around Ireland and the UK, the enthusiastic response of audiences to his new compositions convinced Seamus to enlist the help of a range of esteemed collaborators, old and new, to bring this latest collection of songs to life. Recorded at studios in London, St Leonards-on-Sea and Margate and fine-tuned in his own home studio in Walthamstow, the list of collaborators includes string-arranger and multi-instrumentalist Emma Smith (Pulp, Beth Gibbons), drummers Chris Vatalaro (Anohni, Radiohead) and Aram Zarikian (Grasscut), and horns player Joe Auckland (Madness, Oasis).

Seamus Fogarty hails from County Mayo in the west of Ireland, and was raised on Irish folk music and experimental electronica. “I began playing the tin whistle when I was four ,” says Seamus, “took up the guitar when I was ten, learning all of the album Use Your Illusion 2 by Guns N’ Roses off by heart. From there I moved on to Smog, Palace Brothers and John Fahey before leaning back into the Irish folk music of my youth and devouring my parent’s collection of early Autechre records.” by @bellobardublin

Foggy Notions Presents
Jeffrey Silverstein
Bello Bar
March 25th 2027

Tickets on sale Friday Oct 2nd @ 10am www.foggynotions.ie

Meeting at the intersection of the loner-folk, cosmic country and kraut-laden choogle, from Doggone’s opening pulse of rhythms to its closing cascade of synths, listeners encounter a musician fully rooted in the creative community around him and firmly held by the life he’s built over the last decade.
Where his past several releases saw the New Jersey native settling into life in the Pacific Northwest – observing, appreciating, getting the lay of the land – and finding his footing in the alt-Americana sphere into which he unexpectedly fell, with Doggone, he’s immovable, intentional, and most of all, at peace.

Committed to nurturing his local circle, he called upon a faithful group of Portland-based collaborators, a rolodex of heroes-turned-friends, like producer-composer Ryan Oxford (Y La Bamba, Rose City Band), bassist Alex Chapman, and drummer Dana Buoy (Akron/Family). Together they gathered at the Center for Sound, Light and Color Therapy to record Doggone, which was then mastered by Amy Dragon (Big Thief, Nathaniel Rateliff and Moon Duo).

He also left plenty of room for others to be welcomed into the fold, with freak folk hero Devendra Banhart offering guest vocals on the album’s lead single, ‘Out of Tune’, which is out today. Built around a mellow country groove and dreamy cosmic pedal steel, it’s a sweet and chilled out indie love song about being in sync with your person, moving through the universe as one while still upholding your individuality. taken in Bello bar by @bellobardublin

Foggy Notions presents

Nirosta Steel

Bello Bar
Sunday 1st November

Tickets on general sale Thurs Oct 1st @ 10am www.foggynotions.ie

My Skyscraper’ represents 40 years or so of works, re-works and works-forever-in-progress of one Steven Hall, aka Nirosta Steel — son of Scotland; step-son of the United States of America; adopted Daddy of Taiwan; Five-Star General in the Buddhist Army; legendary horndog stickman (we have pics!); friend, neighbor, collaborator and co-conspirator of Arthur Russell; and one of the most jawdroppingly sincere songwriting voices you’ll hear in this wretched modern era. Sure, that’s a metric fuck-ton of descriptors for a single person. But it’s sorta impossible to capture the full scope of this human being named Steven Hall.

‘My Skyscraper’ doesn’t really even scratch at the surface of his output. And plenty of material is already out there — a devastating 1999 live [but not exactly your standard live recording] called Cool Fire; an EP produced with Russell called Foxy Pup; all his work with the storied outfit Arthur’s Landing, a not-quite-tribute group formed to carry Russell’s torch; and quite a load more. But it’s always a rare and specific constellation of ideas and motifs: queer love songs — night life, giddy desire and odes to lovers of yesterday. There’s the anti-vibrato ethos he shared with Russell always present in the vocal stretches and horn performances. Sexy AF window-buffet disco. Cloudfolk earlobe-lick confessionals. Post-rave sauna-wave. We culled ‘My Skyscraper’ from a few hours-worth of longform mixes Hall sent to us last year. taken in Bello bar by @bellobardublin
