This is jiujitsu to me.

I grew up obsessed with martial arts, from fighting my brothers to mashing buttons on Tekken .

After years in boxing I joined @wimdeputterbjj at @brasabelgium. A lot of hard lessons with no shortcuts. But also many lifelong friendships forged in sweat. Best of all, his door is still open. That matters a lot.

Life pulled me away for a while. Work, distance, family, injuries. Excuses that quickly turned into frustration. And in Brazilian JiuJitsu, frustration is dangerous because mistakes don't just cost points, they cost arms, legs and necks.

Wim helped me find my way to @nigelheylen and the @antwerpjiujitsu crew. From the first roll I felt welcome, something never guaranteed in a fight gym, especially as a higher belt.

These past few months I feel like I'm back. Sharpening, learning and owning my flaws. Trying to earn every inch.

I'm grateful for where I come from and proud to be where I am.

No shortcuts, no pretending.

This is jiujitsu to me.
