As Salaam Alaikum came back from the screening this evening of Your Mother, Your Mother, Your Mother it’s a must watch. We got to hear from Director Bassam Tariq and Mahershala Ali Q/A afterwards really good points of discussion. I will say Bassam gave credit right off the bat to the Muslim African American community for establishing Al-Islam in America. Specifically ATL Masjid of Islam played a crucial role for him and his children that’s all the hint I will give (and those folks are actually in the film that’s all the hint I will give for those who haven’t seen it yet). He also mentions academic researcher Dr. Rasul Miller @rasulmiller and their travel to experience 30 different masjids across 30 states. The movie contains several themes worth discussing as it is relative to our experience as African American Muslims. Mahershala did his thing in my opinion his best role! In the Q/A the topic of fatherhood and the importance of it in the Black community something that is not talked about. Esposito @thegiancarloesposito was excellent, every role this brother plays in he does it extremely well Everyone did their thing in this film! Despite the weather here in NYC the screening was well attended. S/O to sister Sahr Ali @supersahr Founder of Black Muslim Now @blackmuslimsnow and her team of volunteers for putting this together. I’m honored and grateful to my alma mater, @lincolnuniversityofpa, for selecting me as one of this year’s 40 Under 40!

To celebrate, I’m raising $1,000 for Lincoln University’s 1854 Promise Fund, supporting students and their success.

🎯 40 people × $25 = $1,000!

I’m asking 40 people to give $25 in honor of 40 Under 40. Any amount makes a difference and helps invest in the next generation of Lincoln Lions.

Alhumdulillah, All Praise Due to G-d! I’m grateful and humbly accept the nomination be part of the inaugural 40 Under 40 Class at @lincolnuniversityofpa. This honor means a lot to me as Lincoln played integral part of my story and development as a servant leader. From being home school K-6th grade by my parents, being enrolled in Clara Muhammad School of Queens a historic legacy institution (oldest independent private Muslim African American school system) to the halls of Frederick Douglass Hall at Lincoln University (the first degree granting HBCU). The journey has been filled with lessons and experiences. Second part of this announcement coming on September 1st. Looking forward to celebrating with you and the rest of this year class on Friday October 23rd HC weekend. taken in Lincoln University of PA by @belovedweatherman
