The principal photography war path on “Working Horsemen of the World” continued in Lesotho for the month of August.

Known as “the Kingdom in the Sky,” this small, wholly mountainous African nation is the highest in the world - situated entirely 1,400m above sea level. Atop their nimble & hardy ponies, the BaSotho spend hardly a moment on their feet throughout the course of any day. Production on this chapter will likely remain the most productive, physically intense, and surprising of all the six continents featured.

None of these chapters come to life without the generous support & logistical talents of my local contacts. We worked hard, rode hard, and experienced some peaceful beauty which no picture will ever capture the half of. We’ll be back. taken in Kingdom of Lesotho by @beltonsiphone

First time in some years spending summer (mostly) in Texas, and not a safari camp or an Outback station.

Walked my dogs, worked some cows (and yaks), harvested some grapes, hugged my mama, sailed some boats, said some prayers, deleted some vino, mailed some letters, saw some beloved old faces, and made some dear new friends.

To quote my pal Thomas B. Saunders V, working cows & living life are pretty similar — “You just gotta get out amongst em.” Here’s a little bit of gettin out amongst em lately. taken in Texas by @beltonsiphone

Couple fine April moments from working some big Utah desert with good people, who I’m pretty darn blessed to call friends.

A historic set of wildfires (Iron & Cherry Fires) are ripping through much of their primary rangeland right now, and they’ve been out there every day the past few weeks fighting it.

God loves cowboys, but He sure knows how to test them. Please keep my Palfreyman familia and their fellow ranchers in your prayers. taken in Utah by @beltonsiphone

Khövsghöl Aimag, Mongolia - throw a rock, it will land in Siberia. Arrival at our starting point took almost a week off-road.

More horses live in this country than people. Many are nomadic pastoral herders, seasonally shifting with yaks, cattle, steeds, sheep, goats, (sometimes all) between long, brutal winters & short, lush summers.

You will never feel so welcomed in your life as when you step into a family’s modest ger for tea, milk, yogurt, homemade bread, yak soup, or yak & noodles. Or so at peace, moving animals down lonely valleys at edge of the world.

Behind the scenes on several weeks photographing in the French Camargue, at the historic Manade Laurent.

I’m still working on this chapter of a certain project of mine, so it’s not quite time to share the whole story. What a feeling, to arrive somewhere so unfamiliar, and leave with more material, more memories, and more good friends than I could’ve possibly imagined.

Also, the food & dining budget for this trip was responsibly set at approximately “💸💰💳🚀📈🤑”…which I blew by Day 3. taken in Camargue by @beltonsiphone

La Bella Estella got married!

Such a beautiful day, with beautiful spring colors, in a most beautiful & beloved place we call home. And of course, many beloved angels smiling over us all.

I was particularly proud to have clocked a Dua Lipa joke about 1 minute, 37 seconds into my rehearsal dinner speech. It is a longstanding, traditional token of good luck in many cultures. taken in Chinquapin Ranch by @beltonsiphone

Selfies round the world, the past 5 or so years.

Somewhat self explanatory concept. I did it by using this small little camera on the front of the phone, which makes it much easier to take pictures of yourself. Cool, right? It’s fun to use sometimes.

What I didn’t anticipate when putting these together, was looking back into my own eyes & being reminded of where I was mentally, physically, emotionally, spiritually (all the things) at these various points in time.

Have I come very far?

Winter, that time of year where the company’s good, tamales are warm, happenings are rowdy, and months grow chillier by the day. Don’t you dare blink - it’ll be green, flowery & humid again faster than we can say carne guisada. Or asada. I’d order either. by @beltonsiphone
