לטייל עם משמעות 🏍️✨

שבת קרובה, אני יוצא לעוד טיול עם אחד המועדונים הנהדרים שיצא לי להכיר – מועדון שזכיתי להוציא איתו לא מעט חוויות על הגלגלים.

אבל כמו שאני תמיד מאמין, טיול אמיתי מתחיל הרבה לפני שבת. לקראת כל אירוע, גם כשאני מכיר את האזור היטב, אני מקפיד לצאת לסיבוב הכנה ולמידה מקדימה. תמיד יש מה לחדש, מה לשפר ולדייק.

הכנתי כמה מסלולים לאזור שבו נבקר, סימנתי את הנקודות שחשוב לי להגיע אליהן, קראתי, למדתי, והצטיידתי בחברים יקרים שאירחו לי חברה ביום חמישי האחרון בסיבוב ארוך – מהגליל התחתון ועד לקצהו של הגליל העליון.

אני מאמין שטיול טוב צריך להיות יותר מנסיעה מנקודה א' לב'. אני משתדל תמיד להביא איתי ערך מוסף:

✅ החל מטיפים ודגשים על ההבדלים בין רכיבת כביש לרכיבה בשטח (מבלי להיות מדריך רכיבה מקצועי, אלא מתוך ניסיון בשטח).
✅ דרך הסברים מרתקים על האתרים שבהם נבקר ;
וכמובן – תיבול הטיול בטבע, נופים משתנים, מסורת, טופוגרפיה, גיאולוגיה, גיאומורפולוגיה והסטוריה ששוזרים את כל הסיפור יחד.

ככה נראה "לטייל עם משמעות".

יום רכיבה 8 | חלק 2 🥳
מסוראל לסיסו — קבלו קצת יותר פרטים 🏍️🏔️

אחחח, סוראל בהאטורי הירוקה והפסטורלית: כרי דשא, שדות, מים זורמים ופסגות מושלגות שמקיפות את העמק מכל עבר.
אבל, יאללה - אחרי השקט והמרחבים, התחלנו לנוע בחזרה לכיוון קילאר ומשם מזרחה — דרך אודאיפור וטאנדי ועד סיסו.

ככל שמתרחקים מסוראל, הדרך משנה בהדרגה את פניה. העמק הירוק מפנה מקום לתוואי הררי קשוח ומבודד: כבישים צרים הצמודים למדרונות, קטעי עפר ואספלט משובש, אבנים חופשיות, מעברי מים ופניות שמחייבות ריכוז ושליטה מדויקת באופנוע.

זמן ל mode של קצב נכון, קריאת הדרך ובחירת קו. מבט למרחק, יד רגועה על המצערת ותשומת לב לכל שינוי בתוואי.

בהמשך, כשמתקדמים דרך עמק פאנגי לכיוון אודאיפור וטאנדי, הנוף משתנה פעם נוספת. בהדרגה, הרכיבה נעשית זורמת יותר והעמקים נפתחים — מצוקים וערוצים עמוקים מפנים מקום למרחבים רחבים יותר, מדרונות ירוקים ופסגות מושלגות.

בטאנדי מצויה גם נקודה גאוגרפית מרתקת: נהרות הצ׳נדרה והבהאגה נפגשים ויוצרים את נהר הצ׳נדרה-בהאגה, שבהמשך מוכר כנהר הצ׳נאב 🏞️

משם המשכנו לאורך העמק עד סיסו, השוכנת לצד נהר הצ׳נדרה — סיום ירוק ורגוע יותר ליום רכיבה מגוון ומשמעותי.

זה בדיוק הקסם ברכיבת אדוונצ׳ר- כבישבילים 🏍️ לצאת מעמק ירוק ושקט, להתמודד עם דרך צרה ומחוספסת — ובהמשך להרגיש כיצד התוואי נפתח והרכיבה מתחילה לזרום מחדש ❤️

Bhutan by Motorcycle – Into the Kingdom of the Thunder Dragon 🏍️🏔️🇧🇹

For the first time, Doroads Adventures is setting out on a motorcycle journey through Bhutan – with a fascinating new route crossing the kingdom from west to east.

This journey combines fantastic riding along the winding roads of the Himalayas, mountain passes, forests and green valleys – together with a deep encounter with Bhutanese culture, ancient monasteries perched on mountainsides, traditional villages and beautiful fortresses 😍

One of the journey’s highlights will be a full day at the Thimphu Tshechu Festival 🥳

A colorful celebration of masked dances, traditional music, Buddhist ceremonies and spectacular costumes – in the heart of Bhutan’s capital 🧡

Along the way, we will also reach: The famous Tiger’s Nest, Dochula Pass, Phobjikha Valley and the less-traveled eastern Bhutan – on a motorcycle and cultural journey unlike any other.

מעבר בין שני עולמות 🌍☄️🌎

את הבוקר התחלנו בסוראל, אחרי ימים בתוך המרחבים המבודדים של עמק פאנגי. מקום שבו הקצב משתנה, הרעש פג כלא היה - וההרים, הם המכתיבים את סדר היום.

משם יצאנו לדרך ארוכה של כ-170 ק״מ לעבר סיסו (Sissu) 🏞️

הכפרים, הדרכים והנוף מתחלפים בהדרגה, והתחושה כאילו נפתח בפנינו פרק חדש ✨

בסופו של היום הגענו לסיסו, בגובה של כ - 3,120 מטרים — עייפים במידה הנכונה, מרוצים מהדרך ומוכנים להמשך.

זה אחד הדברים שמשכו אותנו לכזה מסלול...
הקצב המשתנה, הדרכים המגוונות, הכל נותנים הזדמנות לחוות את ההימלאיה לעומקה 🏍️🏔️

Some days on a journey take you to a new destination — and some feel like a passage between two different worlds.

We started the morning in Sural, after several days within the remote landscapes of Pangi Valley, where the pace changes, the noise disappears and the mountains determine the rhythm of the day.

From there, we began a journey of approximately 170 kilometres towards Sissu.

On paper, it was around five hours of riding. In reality, it was a day of transition: the villages, roads and landscapes gradually changed, and the journey began to reveal a new chapter.

By the end of the day, we reached Sissu at approximately 3,120 metres — pleasantly tired, satisfied with the road and ready for what came next.

That is one of the things we love about long expeditions: it isn’t only the destinations that change. The pace, the atmosphere and the way we experience the road change with them. 🏍️🏔️

בימים האלה דורון נמצא במסע היכרות בשטח, לקראת בניית מסלולי Doroads אפשריים באקוודור לשנת 2027.

יוצאים לדרך עם ערן, המארח הישראלי שלנו באקוודור, עם קורט, מדריך טיולים אמריקאי, ועם משה בורביה — חבר טוב שכבר טייל איתנו בנפאל וברומניה.

המטרה הפעם היא לא למהר להכריז על מסלול, אלא להכיר מקרוב: את האופנועים, הדרכים, תנאי השטח והאנשים שילוו את החוויה.

Ecuador — Getting to Know the Road 🇪🇨🏍️

Doron is currently on a field exploration journey as we begin shaping possible Doroads routes in Ecuador for 2027.

He is setting out with Eran, our Israeli host in Ecuador; Kurt, an American tour guide; and Moshe Boruvia, a good friend who has already traveled with us in Nepal and Romania.

This journey is not about rushing to announce a final route. It is about getting to know the motorcycles, the roads, the terrain and the people who may become part of the experience.

This is only the first chapter. Over the next two weeks, we will share moments and insights from the road.

מוסטנג התחתון ומנאנג — שני מרחבים בהימלאיה הנפאלית 🏔️

המסלול החדש והמרתק הזה מחבר בין מוסטנג התחתון לאורך נהר קאלי גנדקי, למנאנג שבעמק מרסיאנגדי, באזור האנאפורנה.

מנאנג היא כפר הררי בגובה כ-3,500 מטר, מהתחנות המוכרות בסובב אנאפורנה.

בדרך אליה - יערות אורנים ומטעי תפוחים מתחלפים בעמק פתוח, מדרונות סלעיים ופסגות מושלגות.

אנאפורנה III, גנגפורנה והאגם הקרחוני שלמרגלותיה מעצבים את הנוף; בתי האבן ומנזר בראגה הסמוך מוסיפים היכרות עם התרבות הבודהיסטית המקומית.

מוסטנג התחתון משתרע בעמק קאלי גנדקי, בין רכסי האנאפורנה והדהאולגירי.
צפונה, הנוף נעשה חשוף וצחיח יותר. מרפה (Marpha) היפהפיה המוכרת במטעי התפוחים שלה, וסמטאות קאגבני מציגות פנים נוספות של החיים בהרים.

שני העמקים משלבים נופים שונים ותרבות מקומית במסע אחד.

Lower Mustang & Manang — Two Himalayan Regions 🏔️
The route connects Lower Mustang along the Kali Gandaki River with Manang in the Marsyangdi Valley, in the Annapurna region.
At around 3,500 metres, Manang is a mountain village and a familiar stop on the Annapurna Circuit. On the approach, pine forests and apple orchards give way to an open valley, rocky slopes and snow-covered peaks. Annapurna III, Gangapurna and its glacial lake shape the landscape, while traditional stone houses and nearby Braga Monastery offer insight into local Buddhist culture.
Lower Mustang lies in the Kali Gandaki Valley, between the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. Further north, the landscape becomes increasingly exposed and arid. Marpha’s apple orchards and Kagbeni’s old lanes reveal more of everyday mountain life.
Together, these valleys bring contrasting landscapes and local culture into one journey.

פתאום, ההימלאיה נצבעת בירוק. 🌿🏔️

אחרי ימים של רכיבה בנופים גבוהים וצחיחים, הגענו לסוראל שבהריה של עמק פאנגי — וגילינו צד אחר לגמרי של ההימלאיה.

מדרונות ירוקים, פלגי מים, שדות וכפר קטן המוקף בהרים. אותו מסע, אבל הנוף השתנה כמעט לחלוטין.

שמו המלא של המקום הוא סוראל בהאטורי — וגם השם מספר חלק מהסיפור.

המילה Bhatori נגזרת ככל הנראה מ - Bhot או Bhotia — כינוי היסטורי לקהילות ממוצא טיבטי באזור ההימלאיה. בעמק פאנגי, הכפרים הגבוהים שבהם התיישבו הקהילות הבודהיסטיות האלה נקראו Bhatoris.

לכן Sural Bhatori פירושו למעשה: היישוב הבודהיסטי-טיבטי הגבוה של סוראל. המילה אינה מסמלת רעיון מופשט, אלא מתארת את זהות התושבים ואת אופיו של היישוב.

זה מה שהופך מסע כזה להרבה יותר מרכיבה בין נופים יפים: הדרך משנה את צבעיה, ובכל אזור היא חושפת עוד שכבה מהתרבות ומהחיים בין רכסי ההימלאיה.

ואיך נראתה הרכיבה שלנו בסביבתה של סוראל ?

Suddenly, the Himalayas turn green. 🌿🏔️

After days of riding through high, arid landscapes, we arrived in Sural, among the mountains of Pangi Valley—and discovered a completely different side of the Himalayas.

Green slopes, flowing streams, cultivated fields, and a small village surrounded by mountains. The journey continued, but the landscape had changed almost entirely.

The place’s full name is Sural Bhatori—and the name tells part of its story.

The word Bhatori is believed to derive from Bhot or Bhotia—a historical term for communities of Tibetan origin in the Himalayan region. In Pangi Valley, the high-altitude villages inhabited by these Buddhist communities became known as Bhatoris.

Sural Bhatori therefore essentially means the high-altitude Tibetan-Buddhist settlement of Sural. The name does not represent an abstract idea; it describes the identity of its inhabitants and the character of the settlement.

That’s what makes a journey like this much more than a ride through beautiful landscapes: as the road changes colour, each region reveals another layer of the culture and life among the Himalayan ranges.
