“paradoxically” - a concept indoor drumline show featuring “Cloud Folk” by @johnpsathas

after two long years, my biggest and boldest creative project is finally complete. “Cloud Folk” is a MASTERWORK, and will go down as one of the best pieces ever written for chamber percussion. When @mrkpercussion first introduced me to this piece as a freshman at Capital University, I knew it would stick with me, and it was screaming at me to adapt it to the indoor drumline setting. The ‘program’ designed itself; I was just along for the ride.

This file was a long, tedious process to get EVERYTHING right. I didn’t want to settle for anything that wasn’t the perfect choice for each moment. I’m so glad I took the time because as you’ll see, the result was well worth it. Thank you to John Psathas for writing this beautiful work, for Dr. Kilgore for sharing this with your students, and for all of you who patiently waited through the copious amounts of hype.
Cheers, and enjoy.

***This arrangement is NOT intended to be a distribution of content I don’t own. This is my arrangement of a piece I love, but did not write, and is being posted to honor the greatness of the original work. No official scores or materials were provided; all of the music written in this video is my interpretation.***

we might as well be strangers - @keaneofficial

featuring @musescore ‘s new @tapspaceperc virtual drumline soundfonts.

a twenty year old tune that i love. a year old arrangement I’d been sitting on. plugging in the new fonts breathed new life into this one and i’m so happy with the end result. some tiny kinks to work out as the vdl continues to be rolled out, but is an absolute GAME CHANGER to arranging marching percussion in muse.

score is messy, but as i get older the more i realize that marching band scores prioritize their shipment date.

always appreciated. 🤙💜

wouldn’t come back - @trousdalemusic

i’m way past due on putting my composition work out into the world. i’ve always known i could make cool stuff like this, but most of y’all probably didn’t. this passion project meant a lot to me and it’s super satisfying to see it finished.

the vocal harmonies were extracted from the original record through a third party app. all other sounds were written/arranged/curated/balanced/etc. by yours truly. i hope to have more arrangements on the way soon, so keep an eye out!

let me know what you think… i gotta get used to this whole “feedback and criticism” thing. much love!

**this work is not meant to be a claim of ownership in any way to the original song, just a dude making stuff he loves. trousdale if u see this plz don’t sue i love y’all sm lmao**

daisy - @switchfoot

another day, another spin on my favorite band. this one’s throws a curveball at the end!
i loved working on this tune because it brought such an interesting challenge to keep things fresh through what is definitely repetitive material. really happy with how this turned out, hope you all do to. 🤙💙

i told myself last december that 2025 was going to be hard. it wasn’t. did i push myself as far as i needed to go? can’t be certain. did all of my friends (old and new!) soften the blow and make life way more fun anyway? absolutely. always thankful for the life i live and the people that i can lean on along the way.

wishing you and yours a happy and healthy 2026. 🤙💜

national park theme - @pokemon

a big change of pace from what i usually post! was approached by one of my biggest mentors/colleagues to write something small for his front ensemble to chew on during audition season. the goal was to make this short and digestible, but to really emphasize communication skills across the room (hence the hocketed woods stuff and the big open metals melody!)
really happy with how this turned out, and decided to share this here after sitting on it for a while. let me know what y’all think! (and if you wanna see more shorter form content like this) 🤙💜🎶

‘city trial’ theme from kirby air ride

this game is the epitome of nostalgia for me. was looking for something fun to arrange and after hearing this again it IMMEDIATELY gave cavaliers ‘hornets nest’ vibes. took a shot and it seemed to write itself honestly.

went overboard on the synth parts. patch changes almost every bar. the mixer for this file is a mess… but who doesn’t love a good mess anyway? feedback always appreciated. 🤙
