This year’s NMI Summit promises to be a particularly special event, with a remarkable line-up of speakers, including a keynote presentation from Dr Jeffrey Bland, PhD, widely regarded as the father of functional medicine.

At the @instituteforfxmed Annual International Conference (AIC), San Diego.

Themes revolved around the evolution and application of patient-centred, systems biology-based medicine (i.e., functional medicine) with people on and off the stage sharing challenges and successes in a supportive and collaborative environment.

The functional medicine movement has palpable momentum, which is exciting to see and be a part of.

Hands down the best presentation was @drjeffreybland with an inspired synthesis of advances in the field and a vision for the future, in a way only Jeff can do. Wow.

The NMI Summit 2026, on the 9-10 October in London, is a very special event.

Dr. Jeffery Bland, PhD is keynote speaker this year, which is a tremendous honour.

What an honour to be invited to speak at @ihsymposium NYC.

Three-days of terrific talks and an opportunity to catch up with friends and colleagues including Robyn Puglia, Dr Thomas Guilliams, Dr James Greenblatt, Dr Deanna Minich and Dr Jeff Bland (who both, incidentally, gave the highlight presentations of the event which were predictably brilliant, insightful and thought provoking).

I speak in a lot of places and attend conference all over the world, but there is something about the US. The functional and integrative medicine movements are very progressive, so it’s been wonderful to connect with health providers and industry here.

Now trapped in a blizzard for a few days before able to fly back. The best advice I had from a local was to "lean into it, decide to enjoy it for what it is, it will be an experience, and the city will be beautiful and covered in snow.” So, I am enjoying the calm before the storm. taken in New York City by @benbrownnd

Recently, I spoke at future patient, an event and meeting place that connected health professionals across inter-related disciplines of nutrition, longevity, general practice, and functional medicine.

Special credit to Dr Mayoni Gooneratne for being instrumental in the inception and orchestration of the event. Her vision for better connection, collaboration and patient care was the guiding light that connected diverse speakers and attendees.

It was great to be a part of it.

Some kind words from one of our distinguished speakers, and exactly the reaction we strive for. The NMI Summit exists to inform, empower and inspire, and ultimately to be a catalyst for the widespread adoption of personalised nutrition and lifestyle medicine.

Across 2-days the 9 expert international speakers delivered an outstanding series of sessions. Hundreds of delegates from 14 countries attended the event. The exhibition featured over 20 industry leading businesses, associations and training providers. And in support were universities, colleges, professional networks and charities.

Looking forward, the NMI Summit 2026 on 9-10 October is themed on longevity and biological aging, and we announce a new partnership with the Institute of functional Medicine (IFM).
