We made a decision that many others think and talk about: we pulled our kids out of traditional school to take them around the world instead.

They’re 7 & 5,it wasn’t reckless. They’re not “missing out.” They’re learning in a bigger classroom than we ever could have built for them, one with mountains instead of whiteboards and new cultures instead of textbooks.

This is part of what we’re exploring with Families Reimagined: not everyone’s path has to look the same. The question we keep coming back to is simple… what else is possible?

We have an 8 year old 🥳 And what a beautiful day to celebrate in San Diego 🇺🇸

I’m not sure where those eight years have gone, but I know that getting to spend this much time with both of them is something I’ll never take for granted.

They’re an absolute blessing and, at times, an absolute challenge 😵‍💫😂 There are days when we need a break from them, and they definitely need one from us too!

But sharing this adventure with them means everything. We’re getting to watch their confidence grow and their personalities evolve in ways we might not otherwise see.

At the start of this year, we asked ourselves what else family life could look like, and we decided to go out and find out.

For us, that meant stepping away from our usual routine and travelling the world with no end date in mind. For another family, it might look completely different. 🤷🏻‍♂️

But if you’re considering taking some time out or making a big change, know that the everyday challenges come with you. Parenting doesn’t suddenly become easy because you’re somewhere sunny. If anything, being in each other’s pockets 24/7 can make it harder 😂

Still, we’ve found that working through those days together has brought us closer. The kids are learning from the people they meet, the places they visit and the things they try. And we’re learning alongside them.

If it’s on your mind, go for it 🙌🏽

We’ve been out the UK and on the road for 19 weeks now, (barring a cameo 9 days back home) and today I came across another bit of sad news of an old team mate of mine passing away at aged just 43, my age. Another reminder and one of many reasons why we are doing what we’re doing, because we never know what tomorrow will bring and we have no clue what’s left on our clock. Do what makes you happy, do what’s necessary to start ticking off that list of desires you have because when we come to our end we wanna be going out with memories of all things that made us happy and were important to us, knowing that we had a good go 🙌🏽

10 years ago it was just the 2 of us… you were backed into a corner on a Virgin Atlantic flight on the tarmac of Manchester airport on our flight to Miami … you had nowhere to go when I proposed and we had a month of travelling America ahead of us!! (Would have been awkward if you said no..! 🙃)

What you didn’t know was that I’d already booked our $250 wedding on Smathers Beach Key West for 72 hours later!! (At that price there was no way I’d let you cancel..!! 🤣)….. jokes aside It wasn’t a risky proposal or even an over confident one it was gut instinct from the day I first laid eyes on you.

I’ve never felt what you made me feel then and what you still make me feel now, all these years later. But now you’re not just my wife of 10 years, you’re the mother of our children. The most beautiful little people inside and out both with their own characters always demonstrating the loving nature that we’ve built into them but also the fierce, stubborn, cheeky and competitive nature they both have, that sometimes does boil over but we wouldn’t have them any other way 🤠

Lets continue with more adventure, with more ‘let’s just do it’, with more ‘we’l sort it tomorrow’ but most importantly with more ‘I love you’ because regardless of where life takes us and whatever is around the corner you are my home . ❤️

100 years from now, we’re all dead!!! Our name is gone and nobody is telling our tale.

Yet we still “think about it.”

We worry about what other people think. We convince ourselves we don’t have the time, the money isn’t right, the kids are too young, or we’ll do it when life settles down. All bullshit excuses.

There’ll always be a reason not to do something.

BUT…..

Why not now? answer it…!! What excuse are you making??
