Last Sunday still felt like summer, with some beautiful people in Budapest.
Walking, climbing trees, being silly together. Very happy to have had this time with you. 🤍

Soon I’m off for five weeks for a new incredible adventure at the @donizettiopera , and I’m so, so excited about it. From climbing trees with friends to nights of techno and weeks of opera… I need having all of this in my life. 🫦

TOLDI x ROOTZ INVITES: PAULA SANZ

On October 10, @paula__sanz makes her debut at Toldi invited by @budapest_art_symposium. The Spanish DJ and producer, currently based between Milan and Paris, began her musical journey at a young age, experimenting with the rhythm of drums and singing—an organic development that eventually led her to find her true roots in the techno scene.

Her signature sound masterfully blends classic groove with modern intensity. Known for creating immersive, deep atmospheres driven by a constant groove, Paula skillfully takes her audience on a journey from darkness to light.

MEET OUR GUEST DJ: BENCSAMA

For RUSH Pulse 005, we’re welcoming Bencsama to the booth for a two-hour journey into hypnotic, groove-driven techno.

@bencsama is an Italian DJ based between Budapest and Italy.

His sets are built on consistency, tension, and long-form flow.
Starting from a driving, hypnotic core, he opens into harder, groove-driven territories, shaping a physical experience that unfolds over time.

He is the founder of Techno Symposium and ROOTZ, two projects exploring techno as a shared practice between artists and dancefloors.

His work as a multidisciplinary artist — spanning theater, performance, and music — informs a precise approach to structure, timing, and physical presence behind the booth.

🇵🇱 Wczoraj we Włoskim Instytucie Kultury w Warszawie odbyła się projekcja ASINCRONO oraz spotkanie z twórcami projektu.

W wydarzeniu udział wzięli Tommaso Guerra, Ewa Błaszczyk, Olga Sobkowicz i Benedetto Sicca, którzy rozmawiali o powstaniu projektu i jego procesie twórczym.

Hai mai vissuto un djset immersivo di musica classica?
Cuffie e occhi che possono chiudersi o restare aperti.

@bencsama, progetto musicale di Benedetto Sicca Papa, artista, regista, performer e DJ italiano di base a Budapest, costruisce un viaggio sensoriale in cui musica classica, elettronica ambient e sperimentazione vocale si incontrano e si trasformano a vicenda.

Respiri e archi, musica antica e contemporanea si compongono in una drammaturgia da attraversare in cuffia: un unico, lungo respiro.

Il rito del mix diventa un'esperienza collettiva, ma al centro resta l'ascolto individuale, insieme nello stesso spazio, nello stesso flusso sonoro, eppure liberi di seguire il proprio viaggio interiore, attraversando alcune delle note più belle della storia della musica.

Per rendere l'esperienza davvero unica abbiamo immaginato questo viaggio sonoro in abbinamento a una degustazione di formaggi erborinati selezionati da @onaf_milano per Il club del formaggio, info e prenotazioni al link in bio

One for each of you who came to the last ROOTZ to sweat with us, let go, and make this community stronger — a community rooted in our shared passion for music and freedom.

It was epic. And we’re still carrying that energy with us.

Thank you to all the artists whose trust and dedication made this night possible. For the music, the care, and for putting so much of yourselves into this night.

Thank you to Turbina’s technical crew for their precision and passion. And thank you to @turbinabudapest for trusting us and giving our dream room to grow. More than that: for dreaming alongside us about a different kind of scene.

ROOTZ x TOLDI x PAULA SANZ

Paula Sanz is spending a week with us in Budapest. On Saturday October 10, that week reaches the booth at Toldi.

Originally from Murcia and now based between Milan and Paris, Paula joins ROOTZ as our central guest: a DJ and producer whose sets hold Detroit precision, hypnotic repetition, groove and vocal flashes inside the same physical charge.

The night opens with Dorota b2b BELLITTA, moves through Atashi’s vinyl set and Paula, and ends in Bencsama’s hands.

Nobody has been booked to sound like anybody else. What connects the night is the care given to who plays before whom - and what each set leaves behind for the next one.

Low light, close bodies, sweat, and no reason to look at the clock.

Artistic Journey, Shared Dialogues

The first Techno Symposium of the new season begins with Paula Sanz at the centre.

Originally from Murcia and now based between Milan and Paris, Paula is a DJ, producer, model and co-founder of Dropzi Records. Her practice moves across music and fashion; her sound draws together Detroit roots, hypnotic repetition, groove and a passage from darkness to light.

On October 8, we will talk about consistency as a living practice: how an artist moves through the highs and lows of a career, how different creative disciplines shape one another, and how Paula’s personal understanding of genre, selection and preparation becomes a musical journey.

The conversation will also open to Dorota, BELLITTA, Atashi and Bencsama — the artists sharing the ROOTZ booth with Paula two nights later at Toldi — and to the audience.

A shared dialogue before the music continues.
