I’m so happy to announce that the mini doc about the Willow Room (made by local genius @danielshillinglaw) is out! For those who didn’t get to see it in person this is the next best thing, and for those who did I hope you feel as nostalgic as I do watching this. We chose to stick to the joyful parts and not go into the Willow Room being damaged and taken down. bless you all

good evening, Instagram. I am incredibly devastated to share the news that the Willow Room has been taken down without mine or Purchase’s permission. It is still very much a mystery who removed it, but the directors of the Purchase grounds crew and maintenance department were both shocked to hear it was removed, and said that nobody from grounds or maintenance had anything to do with it. I did find one of the steel angles in a dumpster nearby, and I can assume the rest of it has been thrown out, and the dumpsters have been emptied.

The contract I signed said that I had to be the one to remove it, and I would be given months of notice beforehand. It was removed sometime between graduation and the first week of June, so if anybody has been to Purchase in that time frame or knows anything at all, please reach out.

I’m sharing some of my best Willow Room memories to keep things cheerful, but it is heartbreaking that it has been removed and all the hard work of me and my wonderful friends has been thrown away

hello all! welcome to an instagram post that is greatly important to me!

a few months ago i received the PSGA Public Art grant to make a semi permanent installation on Purchase campus and it’s opening on Sunday ! It’s an outdoor interactive sound art piece called The Willow Room. It is located between the olde and the great lawn and i invite everyone to go see it and use the space however you want, as long as you’re respectful

The opening event is on Sunday at 6:30 PM. RAIN OR SHINE! Come watch the beautiful sunset (and i’ve heard there’s rainbow potential) and enjoy some synths and saxophone to mark the occasion

thanks so much to Tori (who welded the frame), Connor, Matt, Daniel, Howie, Kate, Paul, Aidan, Brigid, Tyler, Misha, Juno, Mom and Dad for all the help on this project. i could never have done this alone
