As magazine that draws inspiration from film and books, what better way to showcase our Issue 04 theme than with some film recommendations from our BTG Team!

“Is it better to speak or to die” is a concept that explores acts of yearning and the risks one takes when speaking or writing. We hope these films inspire you to take those risks and create something that leaves us yearning for more.

🌱Happy (belated) Earth Day!🌱

Even though Earth Day was yesterday, protecting the Earth doesn’t stop at just one day!

To celebrate, we’ve compiled our own special clips of our beautiful planet to share with you!

The poem featured is titled “Wild Geese” by Mary Oliver. It is one that we feel truly resonates with us, here in the garden. We hope it inspires the rest of you to show love and compassion to the Earth and all of her wondrous creatures!

🌱Inspired by the books and films that we carry with us in our writing, Beneath the Garden looks to uplift writing that unearths and explores different perspectives of stories that have been told & have yet to be told.

🌷We are a free-to-submit-to, biannual, literary magazine that looks for work that grows in unexpected places!

🦋Submissions are CLOSED, but stay and dig through the soil with us while we grow our garden!
