🚔 Benedict College is proud to host the 47th Annual South Carolina Association of Law Enforcement Explorers (SCALE) Conference!

From July 19–25, 2026, more than 150 Law Enforcement Explorers, advisors, and law enforcement professionals from across South Carolina and neighboring states will gather on our campus for a week of leadership development, hands-on training, and teamwork.

Co-hosted by the Benedict College Police Department and the City of Columbia Police Department, this year's theme—"Building Tomorrow's Leaders Through Service, Integrity, and Excellence"—highlights our shared commitment to preparing the next generation of public safety leaders.

🗓️ Welcome Day: Sunday, July 19 | 1:00 p.m. | Lorick Park Community Center

📸 Members of the media are invited to attend throughout the week, including the Awards Ceremony on Saturday, July 25.

Dr. Joshua Spivey has been appointed the new director of Career Development Services at Benedict College.

Spivey says, “My reasoning behind wanting to join the Benedict family is because of my love for HBCUs and for the great work that I have been hearing coming from Benedict.
