🌕🌑Stayed up for the lunar eclipse. Murphy’s Law says; let there be clouds ☁️ when night sky gazing. 🤷🏻‍♂️ Still was pretty cool. Someday I’ll get a real rig to shoot, with a tripod. Leaning with my back to the car grille and knees locked the whole time I couldn’t feel my own feet and got the pins and needles! It was a slow shuffle back to the house.🏠 #lunareclipse #skywatcher #moon #geekstuff #gettingold taken in Gwinnett County by @bengeecollins

Two sinners hear the same Gospel.

Both are fallen.
Both are spiritually dead in sin.
Both receive the same outward call.
One believes in Christ.
The other rejects Him.

Why?

If you say, “Because one freely chose Christ,” you have only restated what happened. You haven’t explained why.

Was the believer wiser? More humble? More spiritually perceptive? Did he make better use of grace?

If the decisive difference is ultimately found in the sinner, then something in the sinner distinguishes him from the one who remains in unbelief.

But Paul asks:

“For who maketh thee to differ from another?” (1 Corinthians 4:7)

The Reformed answer is simple:

God makes the difference.

The sinner believes because God graciously opens the heart (Acts 16:14), grants repentance (2 Timothy 2:25), and grants faith in Christ (Philippians 1:29).

We believe willingly, but the reason one fallen sinner comes while another remains hardened is not that one used his autonomous will better.

It is grace.

“So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.” (Romans 9:16) by @bengeecollins

SUNDAY’S COMING!!!……. “Jesus knew that they wanted to ask him, so he said to them, “Is this what you are asking yourselves, what I meant by saying, ‘A little while and you will not see me, and again a little while and you will see me’? Truly, truly, I say to you, you will weep and lament, but the world will rejoice. You will be sorrowful, but your sorrow will turn into joy.”

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

Where does your peace come from?…. You keep Him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord God is an everlasting Rock!
