To say I’m blessed is an understatement. My dad brought my brothers and I to an Auburn football game on November 19th, 2011, being one of my first detailed memories of him. Auburn always had a special place in my heart. I originally didn’t even get accepted into the Fall semester, but with a last minute email in July I had to make a decision. Stay enrolled at UTK or go to an institution I hadn’t stepped foot on since that distant memory, the place I didn’t know a soul, and couldn’t even tell you what it looked like outside of Jordan Hare. But I made the decision to be an Auburn Tiger and it couldn’t have proven to me that everything happens for a reason any better. It couldn’t have proven Gods divine touch in each and every single one of our lives. From pledging Pike, to the hundreds of hours of studying, meeting my forever person, gaining the responsibility of a badass pug, and the rest of the adversity taken place in the last four years of my life. I remind myself of the fruitfulness that has occurred and will continue to occur based upon my last second switch in where I was attending. Yes, it’s bittersweet to wrap up this period of my life but to that I say “You can complain that rose bushes have thorns or you can rejoice that thorn bushes have roses. Perspective changes everything. Two people can live the same day, go through the same struggle, and walk away with completely different stories. One sees pain, the other sees growth. One sees the thorns and the other sees the roses. It’s not about ignoring what’s hard, it’s about choosing to not let the hard parts take away from what’s good.” taken in Auburn University by @benjamin.kieser
