This summer, Dior isn’t only betting on a Natalie Portman short movie for its new Miss Dior campaign:

Born in 1947, Miss Dior is having her story told in animated form for the first time.

In a style reminiscent of Japanese animation, César-winning director Ugo Bienvenu (Arco) takes viewers on a journey through Dior’s signatures and settings : the bow, houndstooth, Christian D.’s mas in Provence, and more.

After Hermès and Loewe’s short film for its 180th anniversary in June, Dior is joining luxury’s current turn toward illustration.

A reflection of craftsmanship.

And Maybe some kind of an anti-AI statement, isn’t it ? by @benjamin_legourd

Do you think Olivier Rousteing has what it takes to build Rabanne’s next chapter ?

He left Balmain at the end of 2025 ; he’s just been appointed at Rabanne.

After 11 years at Balmain, starting at just 25, Rousteing has been named by Puig following Julien Dossena’s departure last June, after 13 years as artistic director there.

Rumors of the appointment had been swirling for months, gaining steam in early May when Rousteing dressed Beyoncé for the Met Gala.

For Puig, the appointment serves a dual purpose:

1. Shore up Rabanne’s fragrance line, a genuine cash cow for the group.

2. Build out the fashion side, whose revenue is nowhere near what perfume brings in.

So what will Olivier Rousteing bring to the house Paco founded? by @benjamin_legourd

What is your favorite Chanel show?

Having taken place at the Grand Palais under Karl Lagerfeld, Chanel’s shows became spectacles in their own right.

From their installation at the Grand Palais on, they were anticipated as much for the outfits as for the set design.

They redefined the scale of fashion shows for all brands and Maisons.

Choose yours !

Hermès is about to launch Haute Couture.

As Paris Couture Week is drawing to a close today, we finally have a date for Hermès’s first steps into haute couture : January 2027.

The House’s Couture debut will be helmed by Nadège Vanhée. First flagged by Axel Dumas, gérant of the Faubourg Saint-Honoré house, back in February 2025, Hermès’s foray into Haute Couture will thus have taken two years to reach the runway.

And Hermès is doing it entirely in-house.

Vanhée has overseen the women’s ready-to-wear collections since 2014, after hints at Margiela, Delvaux and Celine.

She has been handed the crème de la crème of the house’s collections, entrusted with staging its first-ever Couture show.

Hermès will thus make its Couture bow at the very same moment Grace Wales Bonner takes the reins of menswear, succeeding Véronique Nichanian after a 37-year tenure.

Looking forward to Haute Couture by Hermès? taken in Hermès by @benjamin_legourd

For the Chanel Haute Couture 2026-27 show, Matthieu Blazy leaned into a proposal built around childhood imagination.

Maybe more divisive than his previous work.

This morning, Chanel pushed the details even further, showing just how far the 19M ateliers can push themselves.

Most of the looks were worked to the extreme, driven by sheer virtuosity of craft.

A few pieces, though, such as the outfit worn by Romina Lanaro (represented by @theclawmodels / @guillaume.proust ), played on the contrast of simplicity instead, without losing sight of Chanel’s codes of savoir-faire.

What do you prefer in this Haute Couture offer : simplicity or creation to the extreme ? by @benjamin_legourd

Haute Couture for Fall/Winter 2026-2027starts tomorrow, July 6th until July 9th.

This season, 30 shows are scheduled across 4 days of the official Parisian calendar.

There are 3 Houses’ categories :

Members. This Houses hold the official « haute couture » status, governed by strict French legal criteria (made-to-measure, hand-executed workshops, minimum staff and show requirements). 8 houses this season.

Corresponding Members. This recognized Houses for couture-level work but based outside the traditional French framework, or granted status without full member obligations. 4 houses this season.

Guest Houses. These designers are invited by the « Fédération de la Haute Couture » for a season or a limited period, without permanent status. The largest group by far : 18 houses this season.

The « Guest » category now outnumbers Members two to one. This signals how Couture Week has become a platform for visibility as much as a legal club. taken in Paris, France by @benjamin_legourd

Last night, the 2026 Met Gala took place.

Fashion is Art was this edition’s theme.

No coincidence : the exhibition « Costume Art », to be opened on May 10th, explores clothing as an art form in its own right.

For the first time, the exhibition is housed in the « Condé Nast Galleries », a new 12,000 sq meters space dedicated to the Costume Institute’s exhibitions at the Met Museum.

The Costume Institute’s chief curator, Andrew Bolton, summarizes the exhibition’s intent as follows: « Fashion is the only art form that connects every department and every gallery in the museum. There is not a single room where dressing the body is not represented. »

According to American media, the evening reportedly raised $42M (to be compared to $31M in 2025).

This annual fundraiser finances the activities of the Costume Institute, whose bylaws stipulate that while it is housed within the Met, it must be financially self-sufficient.

What is your favorite look?

Since Anna Wintour took over the MET Gala, the price of a single ticket has been multiplied by 100.

Some luxury brands and other partners now reserve tables for a minimum of $350,000.

In 2025, the once-in-a-year evening raised $31M for the preservation of the MET’s Costume Institute.

This year, just hours before the event, the debate is polarizing around the attendance of the Bezos couple and their sponsorship of the evening ($10M according to rumors).

This raises the question of a shift in the spirit of the MET Gala — and of dangerous liaisons within the fashion world.

Are you watching or are you quietly boycotting this year ? taken in The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York by @benjamin_legourd

Every first Monday of May, the MET Gala returns to New York.

This year, of course, under the controversy surrounding Jeff Bezos’s funding.

Let’s have a brief look at its history, and a selection of looks:

The MET Gala’s roots trace back to 1915, when sisters Irene and Alice Lewisohn began collecting theatrical costumes in New York, driven by a genuine passion for theatre.

In 1939, they formally founded the Museum of Costume Art on Fifth Avenue.

By 1948, with the help of publicist Eleanor Lambert, who had also invented the precursor to Fashion Week, they raised $350,000 and negotiated the collection’s transfer into the Metropolitan Museum, where it became the Costume Institute. One condition from the musuem : self-financing.

A constraint that has defined the event ever since.

Early exhibitions lacked curation and felt more like warehouses than museums. That changed in 1955 when MET director James Rorimer fully integrated the collection. And again in 1967 when Thomas Hoving drastically reduced the number of pieces on display, favouring quality over quantity and introducing themed exhibitions.

Diana Vreeland joined in the early 1970s and reinvented the exhibition format entirely : elevated podiums, artworks in dialogue with garments, and striking new mannequins.

Her Balenciaga show drew 150,000 visitors and convinced the entire fashion industry it needed to be part of the event. Oscar de la Renta then took over the Gala’s organisation, introducing a competitive, glamorous edge to the red carpet : for instance, Cher’s see-through dress in 1974 marked a turning point.

Anna Wintour assumed control in 1995 and transformed the economics entirely. By 1999, she introduced brand tables priced at $275,000 each, replacing high society guests with celebrities capable of generating media coverage. She moved the event to the first Monday in May. This tradition began officially in 2005, fittingly with a Chanel retrospective.

The result is a perfectly calibrated machine: culture, spectacle, celebrity, and financing in alignment.

Where the costume has become the content. And the content funds the MET collection. taken in The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York by @benjamin_legourd

Hermès is a one-and-only family story.

And has been through 6 generations.

Thierry Hermès opened his harness atelier in 1837 with one obsession : the finest craft money could buy.

His son Charles-Émile moved everything to 24 Faubourg Saint-Honoré in 1880 ; since then, Hermès never left (and has kept expanding).

Émile-Maurice ran the house for half a century, turning a saddler into a full luxury maison.

Robert Dumas, his son-in-law, gave the world the Kelly bag, the silk scarf, and the Chaîne d’ancre before turning into the CEO.

Jean-Louis Dumas globalized everything : he created the Birkin, opened Hermès to tge the stock market and created a worldwide network.

Patrick Thomas - the only outsider ever trusted with the keys - held the crown as a regent before passing the duty onto Axel Dumas, 6th generation.

The latter quietly multiplied the revenue by 4 and made Hermès worth more than any luxury conglomerate on the Paris stock exchange.

One family, one original address and one craftsmanship for 200 years : isn’t that luxury ? taken in Hermès by @benjamin_legourd

For his 1st Cruise Show, Blazy pair attention to all details and references.

Craftsmanship at its best with a mix of Biarritz, sea inspirations and bows to Coco in 1915.

Embroideries, light tweeds, big beach boots : a lifestyle by the sea. But make in ChaZy.

Loved it !
