I can’t believe I haven’t made a real post in 4 years… I’ll admit, I’ve tried to make a few, and even posted some. I always end up just archiving or deleting them… As I’ve tried to figure out becoming an adult, I realized I’ve never had a clear goal or ambition… And that’s pressured me. In my haste to find one it’s lead to a lot of depression and anxiety. (I feel less and less attached to this world.) One of my only joys has become hiking. I didn’t enjoy it much as a child. My father was a forester, and I feel I spent half my childhood in the woods. I only remember the mosquitoes, heat and ticks. As I’ve become older, I’ve grown a greater appreciation of nature. “I went to the woods because I wish to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life. And see if I could not learn what I had to teach and not when I came to die discovered I had not lived.” The day I took this picture I hiked almost 16 miles. It’s odd, I’ve felt attractive today.

I've always loved classical portraits as my favorite style of art. I believe it's one of the hardest forms of painting, beacuse you aren't capturing an image, or sharing your own emotions in your style. But you're having to capture the emotions and warmth of another human. And portay it to a set standard. Which I think is just incredible.
