Kron, bronze console cast in ice 75x60x50cm available The cavernous patterns and textures are the reaction of hot wax casted in an ice mould, to make the initial model. By lost wax technique, it is replaced by casting bronze. The piece of furniture stands on its structure of runners, which are the tubes that the metal was poured through at the foundry. The colour of the console is the original skin of the metal which was not altered since it was poured. When you try new things, you get new ideas. And sometimes it’s hard to get to the end of a project. Not because it’s a chore, but because it’s hard choosing only one option to represent the research. When there are good options, I want to give them all a chance. So for my next work, I made three editions of the same object - each one a little different from the other. It takes more time and ressources to fabricate, but it feels right. It’s still hard to get to the end though. Not because it’s a chore, but because the deadline is in 3 days lol more soon by @benjamin_motoc

We’re proud to see @benjamin_motoc featured in the latest @elledecoration_nl — a full-page spotlight on his poetic, raw and progressive design language. The word is out! We’re incredibly proud to be featured in a full article by @elledecoration_nl, highlighting our exhibition Fragments of Form during the first Rotterdam Design Biennale. In collaboration with ELLE Decoration, DOEN curated a vibrant and imaginative setting where collectible design, art and unexpected objects come together in bold harmony. The result: a richly layered composition that blurs the line between gallery and living space. Curated by Eva Pertijs and Monique van der Reijden, Fragments of Form showcases works by artists such as @marie_et_bernard, @berry.dijkstra, @pim.top and @benjamin_motoc. Every corner of the space tells a new story—from brutalist forms to glossy surrealism, and from playful assemblage to tactile craftsmanship.
