We know Gravel Burn has been rough, so this is just to remind you that there is another way.

Why custom?

Since day one we have only ever built bikes up from scratch, and no two have ever been the same because no two riders are.

Be it something as simple as the correct bar and steam measurements, or as complicated as finding that perfect saddle from the USA, we believe the effort is worthwhile.

We know everyone rides differently, everyone has different goals, and everyone has different demands and non-negotiables. For these reasons and more every bike is different, perfect for you instead of perfect for a catalogue.

So really it’s not so much ‘why custom’ as ‘why all the same?’. You deserve YOUR bike, and we make that a reality.

We’d all rather be riding @gravel_burn now, right? by @benkyrides

Can’t get enough of this colour, just so damn nice.

It’ll ride pretty good too, you should try it.

ENVE MOG Coral. All the little bits add up to something special.

My setup for @gogravelmidlands this past weekend, which I’ve since realised is South Africa’s answer to Rule of Three.

‘Gravel is just ‘90s MTB’ is such a weak line, except sometimes it kinda is when you throw a bunch of forest track and a bit of single track into a loop de loop of the Karkloof. It’s not for everyone, I’m not even sure it’s gravel, but it’s kinda how I ride mostly so it works for me (except the Frankenhand bit). It was fun, and a lekker challenge.

The race itself was hard, as expected. @travis_stedman1 and @keegan_tully07 did us a favour and left us very early so @josh_rheeders put @tywhite6 and I to the sword until his lack of suspension caught up with him. I died a thousand deaths up the lovely Khyber Pass holding their wheel, but also forced me to be better and that’s the goal I think. Ty got us on the last single track descent to the finish, to the shock of no one, so I got 4th and Josh 5th. A good hard race.

I was also reminded again what a nice group of bike racers we have in KZN. No race is ever raced anything but hard and it’s a good battle but raced positively with no BS. It’s lekker, and long may it last.

Well done to all that took part, that was a tough one. To those who had oopsie’s of varying degrees out there heal up fast!

SRAM Transmission 1X as per usual. 46T front chainring and 10-52 rear cassette, because 15% climbs.

Faultless all day.

@enduro_bearings XD-15 bottom bracket and @squirtcyclingproducts Hot Wax keeping the dust at bay. There’s a lot of dust here.

The best thing I’ve bought in years is the @wovebike M8. It’s completely changed how I sit on the bike and fixed multiple niggles in my bike fit. Love!

@maurten_official did some heavy lifting, it was a big old day chasing tiny climbers around. 3 sachets of drink mix 320, 5 Gel 160 and 2 Caf 100 gels made for 500 grams of carbs in 3:20hrs. Not a moments worry about whether I’d run out of energy.

150g/hr with no stomach distress. We’ve been having it.

@garminsa Edge 850 on duty for the Navigation. I did my very best to not look at the watts when we were going uphill, but had to watch the squiggly line for whe by @benkyrides

Every bike we sell is custom specced. The perfect ride for you and where you ride.

We do this so that every part on your bike can be trusted and true. No cheap hubs on nice rims, no down specced chains, and no generic fit specs that might not work for you at all.

We know that the right bike makes the ride better, and ownership easier too, and we will always advise with your best interests in mind.

No shortcuts, no compromises, just the best bike we can build for you. Every time and always.

Not all bikes need to make sense.

Single speed. Flight attendant. Hardtail. Light. Fun. Kinda dumb.

If you can dream it it can exist.

@envecomposites and @reservewheels having been known for having the best wheels out there, and their latest gravel offerings only reinforce that.

The 48/53 from @reservewheels and the G SES 4.5 from @envecomposites provide responsibly wide internal widths, proven aerodynamics, reliable handling and durability, a combination that is rare to find.

Gravel is getting faster, but no less taxing on body and bike. These wheels make you faster without making the ride feel worse, and that’s why we love them.

In store and ready for your bike, now.

The new @reservewheels 48/53 GR are a recent launch but have quickly made waves amongst those in the know as a Wheelset that is both incredibly aerodynamic and yet still composed and comfortable.

Some even say they’re the fastest gravel wheels going, but all we know for now is that they make this Stig looking pretty damn rad.

As with every Reserve Wheelset not only do these wheels guarantee a lifetimes worth of fun, but they come with a lifetime guarantee too. Wheels you can trust, no matter what.

Refined, capable, and ready for anything. This custom spec @santacruzbicycles Blur will take you wherever you choose, and give you the ride of your life along the way.

With a build we’ve chosen for how we’d ride the bike, especially here in the KZN Midlands, it is a build we put our name behind and trust entirely. We know it’ll put a smile on your face, and make you faster than you’ve ever been…everywhere.

Key specs:
Santa Cruz Blur 5 - Large
@rockshox Flight Attendant suspension and Reverb dropper post
@srammtb XO AXS Transmission with @quarq
@reservewheels 28 XC SL wheels with @dtswiss 180 hubs
@maxxisbike Aspen and Aspen AT 2.4 tyres

It’s a special one, built by @callans_biketech.

Just something for you to think about, all damn weekend.

ENVE MOG. SRAM Red. ENVE G SES 4.5 Pro.

It’s kinda ridiculous, but that’s ok.
