BenLee2D is dabbling with 3D! (I just referred to myself in the third person and I apologise!)

This 3D animation was made entirely in Blender using a brilliant tutorial by @ducky3d with some extra spicy stuff from @__blender__guru . There is a whole world of incredible content that people such as these two put out, for FREE, and the work that goes into that is no small thing. If you're interested in this sort of stuff check them both out and show some support.

It's crazy that Blender is a free programme. This animation isn't even the tip of the icebergs tip in terms.of what can be made with it.

Could I BE more excited about it?!

Hi Instagram! It's been a minute.... Feel like this deserves a repost. The Bear and The Frog, the start of an adventure. I can see so much in this painting that I'd like to change or could maybe improve but I'm not at the stage of a full paint over just yet. Think I'll hold out.

I did do some extra post processing on it though. Shout out to @sinixdesign for a very old but extremely brilliant youtube video on the subject

His name was Nicholas "Moog" Gillingham, and he was a cool lump of a cat. He loved hanging over a peoples left shoulder - only ever the left mind you - and didn't believe in catflaps, preferring the face to face interaction that the human operated patio door afforded.

He was one of those cats who wanted you to scratch his head SO hard that you would think 'I must be hurting him', but he would put your mind at ease by dribbling all over your other forearm to signal his enjoyment of the abusively hard scratch.

He could sleep like the best of them, during the day at least, and had very strong views on what time breakfast should occur. 4:15am. No question. If you tried to disagree, he would knead your chest like a piece of stubborn dough until you got up and agreed that yes, it was in fact the perfect time for breakfast.

He was taken perhaps a bit too soon, but he lived a pretty awesome life while he was here. I hope he's hanging out with Petros, Charlie, Jim, Spliff, Gilly and Ham, and Savannah right now.

Had such a lovely time in @artwithlizzy 's class this morning.

Was fun to feel challenged, lovely to be in a room with other people, bonus that they were all talented creatives, and also lovely to see some familiar faces.

I learnt a lot about not needing the "right" stuff, or the "best" stuff, and discovered some things I didn't necessarily think I could do, like just painting first and then finding a way to change things later.

I still don't love acrylic paint, but I've softened somewhat. by @benlee2d

I won't lie, life has been a little bit shit recently. At least from one perspective.

But from another perspective, it's just pushed me further into my actual work. This is good.

It's also given me time to help out and be held by my friends.

Funny how things work out sometimes.

Having left a totally different industry and now trying to learn a new one with no resources (in my 40's) I can safely say I don't know what I'd do without a little help and advice. But who to turn to?

Self confidence can be elusive. A lack of belief in yourself or even just in your skills can be crippling and, as shown here, can at the very least make a job harder. That's if it doesn't stop you from starting all together.

The message here is, try as hard as you can to just go for it. I realised after finishing this sign that even if I had painted the white and then messed up the black, I could always have corrected it after with the white. Nothing is truly lost, unless we stop trying. Instead, I let fear get in the way and it made the whole thing a lot harder.

I'm grateful for the lesson it taught me however, and it all came out pretty well in the end I think 😊
