We called it Find Your People.
Y’all actually found your people. 😂

FYP was a room full of strangers becoming a little less strange.

Houston, we might be onto something. 👀

ONE WEEK OUT 👀

Blair asked what to expect at Find Your People and the answer is simple: just pull up 😂

No elevator pitch. No awkward “so what do you do?” every 5 minutes. No need to have anything prepared.

Just good people, guided conversations, interactive experiences, a few surprises, and a chance to actually meet somebody you might not have crossed paths with otherwise!

I’m not telling y’all everything though… that would ruin the fun 🤷🏾‍♂️

We probably should’ve introduced ourselves properly by now 😂

We’re The Intersection! A Houston community built around real connection, not just networking.

Friends. Creatives. Collaborators. Community. Sometimes you just need the right room to find your people.

We’re back… because apparently one event wasn’t enough 😂

While we were out at White Linen, we caught up with a few familiar faces from our last gathering to hear what they remembered, what stood out, and why intentional community still matters.

And somewhere between the conversations and the linen, Ivy and I may have casually announced what’s next 👀

The Intersection presents: FYP — Find Your People.
A new experience built around real conversations, genuine connections, and meeting people beyond the usual “So, what do you do?” small talk.

📍 The Cannon West Houston
📅 Friday, August 28
⏰ 6–9 PM

Come as you are. Leave with your people. More details coming soon. 🤝🏾✨

Some rooms change your network. The right rooms can change your perspective!

The Intersection was created for moments like these: real conversations, unexpected connections and people showing up as more than a job title.

This is what happens when community feels intentional, not transactional.

The full recap is here. 🎬
And we’re only getting started. 👀

📸Two weeks ago, a room full of strangers reminded me why The Intersection exists.

In a world that’s optimized for followers, algorithms, and “what can you do for me?”, we wanted to create something different.

A space where conversations matter more than business cards.
Where curiosity beats networking.
Where people leave remembering names instead of just collecting contacts.

Some came looking for opportunities.
Some came for community.
Some came because they simply wanted to meet good people.

I think everyone left with a little bit of all three😅

This isn’t about building the biggest community.

It’s about building one where people actually see each other.

Thank you to everyone who trusted us enough to spend your evening with strangers.

We’re just getting started!

One week later… and I’m still thinking about the conversations!

People came for professional headshots, but they left with something even more valuable—new relationships.

At The Intersection, we believe networking shouldn’t feel transactional. It should feel like the beginning of a real relationship.

Thank you to everyone who showed up, trusted the vision, and made In Focus what it was. This is only the beginning.

📸 Full gallery and more behind-the-scenes moments are coming soon.

Question: What’s one thing you wish networking events did differently?

Tomorrow.

A simple idea: put good people in the same room and see what happens.

That’s what we’re building with The Intersection.

Whether you’re an entrepreneur, creative, professional, or just someone who enjoys meaningful conversations, we’d love to have you there. You never know who you’ll meet or what one conversation could lead to.

Between trying to figure out if Ghana is going to save my evening and getting challenged by some smart people lately… I’ve had a lot on my mind 😂

I’ve been thinking deeper about what The Intersection is actually building.

Less networking.
More intentional collisions.

Still learning. Still building.

A few updates coming tomorrow.

A few weeks ago, Ivy and I were complete strangers. Today, we’re building our first multi-passionate collaboration together.

What started as a conversation about community quickly turned into a shared belief: the best experiences do more than just bring people into a room. They give them a memorable reason to connect beyond being there.

Every single event either of us have produced, has led to real world collaborations anongst our attendees that linger. With The Intersection’s next event, Ivy (@studioannan) is bringing her game design expertise to produce and facilitate a game for multipotentialites to discover memorable common ground where different perspectives intersect.

If you’re a creative, entrepreneur or professional in Houston, we’ll see you at The Canon on June 25 @ 6pm.
