"Ascophyllum nodosum" steel and cement

A sculptural experiment based on a favorite seaweed species from Rhode Island and using offset Hilbert-esque curves in volume of space. The original was a ~4-5' tall garden trellis I designed/made, but I decided I wanted a scaled-down version for my NYC apartment.

"Night Crabbing" oil/acrylic on panel, 24x18

A recent piece of my brother and grandfather fishing/crabbing into the night. The lighting/shirt pattern combo made it an exciting challenge to render the scene.

This was a self portrait I started about two years ago and sat unfinished for most of that time, finally finished it off over the summer.

Got to play around with some different stylistic elements on this one, as well as some new colors/blender volumetrics

Here's a small oil portrait study from the other day. Figured I needed to try learning to use oils at this point so here's my first real attempt with them.

Recently got started with a new sketchbook, so here's some of the highlights from my old one. This summer's sketches were mostly a few portrait studies and a fair bit of bioillustration from life, focusing on how different adaptations could be useful in biomimetic product design.
