Originally headed down to the beach to flick the light gear around for a fatty, wasn’t even going to take the Jewie setup. Luckily I did, because it was a complete 🍩 on the light gear

Walked up the beach a bit, found a really good-looking spot, started a fire and waited for the water to push up a bit. Fished around the zone for a while, hooked up and pulled hooks 🤦‍♂️ Took a little break, got back to casting and not long after, this fat slob of a mulloway absolutely smashed it.

Had a solid first run but didn’t do much after that. Nonetheless, I was stoked! Sang out to some randoms a bit further down to grab a few photos, then sent her back on her way 🤙🏽

Me, Shane, & Rich headed down to the beach for a session throwing plastics for jewies. After a 1km walk, Shane decided to keep pushing a few more kilometres down the beach while Rich & I stayed put.

Not long after the sun went down, I hooked up and landed a solid fish. Shane then walked all the way back to the exact same spot, had only a few casts, & hooked up himself about 10 minutes later.

The best part? It was only Shane’s third time beach fishing with plastics for jewfish, and he landed his very first one over the magic metre mark—an absolute beast measuring 128cm! Not a bad way to tick off a PB.
