As a player you always go through your weekly routine of meetings, gym, field sessions, reviewing training, reviewing opposition, going over the game plans etc, so in a way you can control your performance on game day.

Now as a coach you don’t have that control anymore. Your evidence is if your “teaching” during the week has worked or not.
So now my “performance” is in the hands of the guys playing and that’s a whole different feeling.

Did I do too much? Or not enough?
Is there another way I can get the message across?
When I talk in team meetings, am I clear?
Am I consistent with my communication?
Do I give enough feedback?

These are the types of questions I ask myself when I review my week. I’m sure I’ll never get it right every-time but I guess that’s the best way to learn.

Transitioning into something new is always a scary feeling.
Lots of challenges for sure but have been learning a lot along the way.

As the great Roger Federer said I have officially “graduated” from playing rugby.

I don’t even know where to begin but after playing this game professionally for 17 years there’s a lot of people to thank.

To all the clubs & coaches who gave me an opportunity to work under them to learn, be apart of a group to create relationships and was lucky enough to win some trophies.
Thank you.
Not going to lie, I’ve played more clubs than Tiger Woods.

To the players I’ve had the pleasure to play with, thank you for accepting me for who I am. I’ve learnt so much from everyone and I hope I’ve passed on some of my knowledge as well. You’ve all made a huge impact on me not just to be a better rugby player but more importantly a better human being.

The people we’ve met in all the countries we’ve lived in who’ve welcomed my family and I, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. You’ve not only helped Hannah and my kids settle in smoothly but have created some unbelievable memories along the way.
Thanks for being our “family away from family”.

Our immediate families who are here on earth and who are watching from above, thank you for your unwavering support, love and your prayers over the years. We are so blessed to have you with just a phone call away and to come visit us where ever we are in the world.

A special mention goes to my beautiful wife @hannah_tapuai who is the reason I get to do what I do.
My gosh I hit the jackpot with her ❤️
Any mother would know how hard raising a family is but to birth our children in 3 different counties while raising them without anyone but just us is truly admirable.
Merci mon chou chou.

This has truly been the best job in the world.

Your mum and I have been tired trying to raise you for the last 6 years 😂 but all worth it cause you make us so proud little man.
Keep being the best big brother to your siblings & the social kid you where you just make friends whatever park/rugby field/playground we go too.
