بس ليه منصدّق الكلام المسرّب أكتر من الكلام الموجّه إلنا؟

سنة 1962، Walster & Festinger درسوا تأثير الكلام يلي منسمعو «بالصدفة»… والنتيجة بتفسّر كتير من اللي منشوفه بالسياسة اليوم.

برأيكن، هيدا التسجيل تسرّب بالغلط أو عن قصد؟

Leaked by accident or on purpose?

One word from a closed-door meeting triggered a political crisis bigger than countless public statements.

But why do we tend to believe leaked conversations more than messages directed at us?

In 1962, Walster & Festinger studied the power of “overheard” communication, and the result explains a lot about what we see in politics today.

بس في شرط واحد، إذا ما توفّر، الدمعة ما بتعمل ولا شي.

⁨ ما حفظنا قسم جبران تويني لأنّو حلو.
حفظناه لأنّه قلناه.

١٤ آذار ٢٠٠٥، ساحة الشهداء. جبران ما قرأ القسم عالناس، خلّاهن يقولوه معو. والعلم بيفسّر ليش بعد ٢٠ سنة بعدنا حافظينو كلمة كلمة.

إذا بدّك فكرتك تعيش، لا تقولها للناس. خلّيهن يقولوها معك.

شو الجملة يلّي بعدك حافظها من يوم ما قلتها بصوت عالي؟ 👇

We didn't memorize Gebran Tueni's oath because it was beautiful.
We memorized it because we said it.

March 14, 2005, Martyrs' Square. Gebran didn't read the oath to the crowd. He had them say it with him. Science explains why, 20 years later, we still know it word for word.

If you want your idea to last, don't say it to people. Get them to say it with you.

⁨ ‎بشير الجميّل من أقوى الخطباء يلي مرقوا بالسياسة اللبنانية.
‎مش لأنّو كان بيعلّي صوتو. عشرات غيرو كانوا بيصرخوا أكتر منّو وما حدا تذكّرهن.
هوّي كان بيحكي بجُمَل قصيرة، بلهجة الناس، وكل جملة كان إلها شكل, بداية ونهاية بيحسّ فيها الجمهور قبل ما توصل. لهيك التزقيف كان بينزل سوا، مش متقطّع.
يعني ما كان ينتظر ردّة فعل الناس. كان يبنيها بالجملة نفسها.

Bashir Gemayel was one of the finest speakers Lebanese politics ever produced.
Not because he was loud. Plenty of men shouted louder and nobody remembers them.
He spoke in short sentences, in the language people actually used, And every sentence had a shape, a beginning and an ending the room could feel coming before it arrived. That's why the applause landed together instead of trickling in.
He wasn't waiting for the room to react. He was building the reaction into the sentence.

الاعتراف بالخطأ مش دايماً فضيلة.
أحياناً هوّي أذكى حركة بالغرفة ،بس إذا إجا بالوقت الصحّ.
بمحاكمات صورية نُشرت بمجلّة Law and Human Behavior، لمّا الطرف طلّع المعلومة المؤذية عن حالو قبل ما يطلّعها خصمو، ضعف تأثيرها عالحكم.
