I'm an avid gardener and love sharing what I do with others. I love learning as much as I can about gardening. Salt Lake City, zone 7b.

I'm thinking about switching sections to inline drip from point emitters and have some questions. As the trees and shrubs get larger, I'm having to adjust where emitters are, and it's a pain. Is it densely planted enough that it would be beneficial? Do I just add rows of inline to the existing drip lines? Could I just put a T and make a grid?

A waterline under the street broke in my neighborhood. Thankfully @westjordanutah came fairly quickly to start fixing it. by @bens.backyard

Remember the odd zinnias with the white disk? I've figured it out! It was some @botanical_interests Envy Zinnias that got mixed with my zinnias. I thought I had put them all in a different bed, so this is a lovely surprise!

It's time to harvest the @keenegarlic! The garlic did really well this year, even the soft neck made it through the winter! I just have to clean it, cute, and prepare it for storage. by @bens.backyard

I've not had zinnia blooms look like this to start, have you? It'll be interesting to see how they turn out when open. by @bens.backyard

Wasps have a bad rap, but are very beneficial. They're garden predators and pollinators. The main problem is they don't understand personal space, have a heck of a sting, and are very territorial. I've only been stung once in the garden and that was when I was clearing the 3 foot high grass and I got too close to one of the thirty nests that were in the yard at the time. Now that I've gotten a nice habitat going, things have balanced out and I only remove nests when they're by places that people congregate. by @bens.backyard

Okay my zinnia peeps, do we think this one is going to develop beyond this? It's been at this point for a couple days now. These are harvested seeds and in prior years I've had zinnias without rays. I try to cull the ones without rays, but the genetics are hiding in them.

This is the closest I've been to a wildfire. The #bonneville wildfire is very close, but still 13 or so miles away. by @bens.backyard

The @keenegarlic is doing well and it's time to harvest the garlic scapes on the hard neck garlic. It's going to be time to harvest the garlic very soon! by @bens.backyard

Welp, @melonmonologues I can empathize with your situation. I got the hole dug and hopefully someone will be out on Wednesday to fix it. The irrigation ran this morning so everything should be good till Wednesday. by @bens.backyard
