The Smile :D World Tour is officially over! 4 continents, 60 something shows, thousands of miles traveled, and the better part of nine months away from home for some of us. I don’t really have the mental bandwidth to write too much more about (I’m still about 8 hours away from getting back to LA), but I do want to thank each and every person that worked on this tour in any capacity. That’s all I can muster right now, I might make another post later, especially since we still have a few more shows in the next couple of months. For now, I’m proud of what we’ve done and I’m very happy to be going home to my wife and my cats. taken in Dublin, Ireland by @bentch.yourself.up

Super stoked to finally share my playback rig for the Smile :D World Tour! I spent several months designing it before bringing on Brad at @btpa_usa who did an amazing job wiring up this behemoth.

Components are:

@iconnectivity_interfaces PA1U for my midi interface with the rest of the stage
@rme_audio Digiface Dante’s for my primary and secondary audio interfaces
@directout Prodigy.MP as my redundancy switcher and to connect me with the Dante network all audio is run through
@rupert_neve RMP-D8 Dante preamp (one of 6 in our setup!)
@shure Axient AD4Q to receive wireless from stage for guitars to be processed via…
@official_line6 redundant Helix Racks for electric, bass, and acoustic guitars that are going into
@radialeng Backtracks that switch between the A and B Helix, before being fed back into the RMP-D8 to get into the Dante network to get processed in Ableton

Absolute honor of a lifetime to have helped bring PATHS LIVE to life at RED ROCKS with @gjonesbass

It was my pleasure to design and program the Ableton session, build out the playback rig, and work with Greg on bringing his ideas for playables to life.

I’m also incredibly stoked to have @itsmeunclericky out on the road manning playback and holding down stage left! He crushed it at Red Rocks and I can sleep easy knowing Greg is in good hands with Erik in his ear.

Shoutout to the incredible visual designers including but not limited to @jaysondoeslighting & @shinosm who pulled insane hours putting the visual package together up until the very last moments before Greg walked on stage. This show is a masterclass in visual design and I highly encourage everyone interested in electronic show design to check it out!

Massive thanks to Henry & Max over at @strangeelectronic for building and shipping a playback rig essentially overnight; and to @iconnectivity_interfaces for powering the whole show with their new PlayAudio1U redundant audio interface.

Had a wonderful birthday with my love @lifeofopossum today! It’s been a big year and I’ve achieved way more of my goals this year than I ever thought I would, but the next year has more in store and I’m so excited to see where life takes us. It’s taken me a few days to post this because I’ve been mentally, physically, and emotionally recovering from this weekend, but Second Sky was one of the greatest days of my life and I will never forget a moment of it. I had the amazing opportunity to work with Porter on creating a full band version of his show and introducing the world to Together Live. The experience was simultaneously incredibly rewarding and one of the biggest obstacles I’ve ever surmounted. Luckily, the PRT crew is incredible and everyone put in the work to create this amazing piece of art that I believe has the power to influence electronic music for the next decade.

I’m about to shoutout everyone, but first I have to give glory to @djphatticus : I needed help and he stepped in instantly and took care of every single thing I threw at him, without Att I’d probably be lying unconscious in a Nashville ditch. So so stoked I got to bring you out and show the world how awesome you are.
