My sister Lisa on a camel last year in Morocco. I love this picture that her husband Doug took; it embodies her love for travel and adventure. It’s hard to believe it’s been a month since we lost her to a recurrence of AML cancer. Thanks to everyone for the outpouring of love and support to us all, especially to Doug and Sarah, Connor and Biz and our mom Woody. Lisa was a force of brilliance and good, spared no time in living life to its fullest. She was such an amazing mother (and wife, daughter and sister, aunt, niece, cousin and friend). Her love of travel, reading, card playing, baking, exercise, celebrations, gardening and laughter live on. I have an appointment to give platelets tomorrow in her honor. We love you, Lis. 💓 by @bentfernathens

Sometimes things are hard. Sad and scary and hard and then you have your bestie college friends around to lift you up. I’d lay it all down for these ladies. Those that didn’t make it to ATH this summer were missed. Thanks for all the continued prayers for my beautiful sister in her battle. We’re still fighting and oh so hopeful. 🙏💖🦋 by @bentfernathens

Camille and I had a fun, quick getaway to NY- we went to museums, saw some shows, ate great food, met up with nephew Connor and some of her UGA friends, walked lots of miles, and laughed a lot. Love her so! @camilleattaway @connor_neely_ by @bentfernathens

Lisa is has had some good birthday news regarding her post chemo blood counts (going up!) and promising news about potential stem cell donors (4 perfect matches!). I am too old now to donate again. My gratitude for those will to donate marrow cells to complete strangers is overwhelming! Happy birthday, Sis! @lisa_neely12 by @bentfernathens

Send a little love to Lisa, as she’s at it again with recurrence of a blood cancer. She’s the smartest of us with the biggest heart and can do just about anything, so… don’t doubt her for a second. 💪🏻 🥰 by @bentfernathens

Before and After!
Happy new year, friends! This project was a joy. I’ve loved this house for a long time - it feels like a mountain home in the heart of Athens. Thanks to Lobo Landscaping for implementing the plan. As usual, I couldn’t do it without them. 🙏 Stay tuned for the Summer Version when the plants are maturing and more hardscaping will be completed. 🌿🌿🌿 by @bentfernathens
