New York was magically emotional and just as beautiful as I remember it being gone for 7 years. Now 7 years in my LA journey couldn’t have been back at a more amazing time for the city.

I celebrated my wife’s amazing work on the film In Memoriam with a great premiere at Tribeca, met Marc Maron and told him how his comedy in the ‘90’s about organized religion helped shape my distrust of it, I helped a dragon queen cut in a drink line during a Broadway intermission and had a lovely conversation with her, I saw Ben Stiller and Matthew Broadrick talk about the Cable Guy and saw that film in a theater for the first time in 30 years, walked around my old haunts in Brooklyn, saw a World Cup game of my homeland’s team and we got a draw against a tough opponent, then met up with a dear friend as his bar and witnessed the Knicks win a championship.

All with my new outlook in sobriety and with my partner in life and love @ohdivyanewtonjohn Definitely not gonna wait another 7 years to get back to the first place I ever lived where people accepted me and without question thought of me as one of their own. Sure, I may not be a New Yorker, but it’s the first place I lived where people thought I was from there. taken in New York City by @benwelington

Happy One Year Anniversary, my love @benwelington ! Feel so appreciative that you are my partner in life and we get to go through all the highs, lows and everything else in between together. Had the best time last week @artmumbaiofficial Saw some ancient art from the subcontinent as well as modern takes by talented artists from the 20th century. A truly unique and amazing night filled with warmth from new friends, a great fashion show and dancing our butts off!
