Featuring a unique quilt shape, a cozy knitted shawl collar, and a brass zipper. Famously worn by legends Ralph Lauren and Steve McQueen. Favourite piece in my vintage down collection, took me years to find.

Vintage 1950s Eddie Bauer Down Undershirt

In 1957 Eddie Bauer created this style 25 down-filled undershirt to be worn by mountaineers as a layering piece under a down parka. Rivals their Skyliner jacket which looks similar, this shirt is much lighter in weight. The snap buttons make it much more comfortable to be worn as an inner piece and to be worn as sleepwear in campsites.

Last photo is taken during the 1963 American Mount Everest Expedition.

Vintage 1970s Eddie Bauer “Canadian Vest” actually made in Canada.

This 12oz goose down vest was first designed for bush pilots and guides based near the Arctic Circle. Eddie Bauer has made quite a few variations of this vest over the production years. The cut, materials and shade of colors are quite different. This particular one is made in same color ripstop nylon in and out.

Vintage 1950s LEVI’S 507XX Jacket

507XX is the 2nd edition of the previous LEVI’S 506XX jacket. One more chest pocket was added and the cinch back was replaced with button adjusters. The rivets at the pocket corners were replaced by bartacks.

Vintage 1950s LEVI’S 501ZXX Jeans

501XX for me is the most iconic American jeans ever made. Starting out as workwear and soon becoming a fashion piece by later movie influences. Rivets reinforce all stress points including hidden rivets at the back pocket corners. This one here is a short lasting zipper version 501ZXX.

Vintage 1940s LEVI’S 506XX Jacket

Commonly referred to as Type 1 jacket is this Levi’s single pocket riveted denim jacket. Levi’s made a few changes on this jacket over the production years and this one here is the one with pocket flap reintroduced after the war restriction. Gusseted front can be let out for more room if needed. Back is adjustable with bronze cinch back slider.

Vintage 1945 British Military Khaki Drill Shorts

A pair of Indian made British military shorts with the typical stamping, dated 1945. These shorts were manufactured in India in the 1940s due to the shorter supply routes to the Middle and Far East. The shorts feature double waist belt and buckle closure and hand sewn eyelets and buttonholes.

Vintage 1953 British Military Khaki Drill Shorts

The iconic 1950 pattern British military shorts with the signature adjustable cross belt waist closure. This pair of shorts has been frequently reproduced by brands including Ralph Lauren, Banana Republic and many others. This original British made pair is dated 1953. The buckles are removable for washing, which are important details for trousers with metal hardwares.

Vintage 1960s LEVI’S twill trousers

This is the iconic Levi’s twill trousers that was worn by Steve McQueen in many of his photo sessions. An interesting pair of casual trousers with a short snap closure waistband. I like the look of the slim waistband and no belt loops. The opening is tapered to 13 inches as once written on the flashers. Anatomica made an accurate reproduction of it under the name of “McQueen Pants”.

Vintage 1960s LEVI’S twill frayed shorts

It’s a 4-pocket shorts from the “White Levi’s” family. I love the look of a frayed shorts, perfect for Ivy style. The bartacks reinforce the seams and prevent further seam ripping, which are important details for a cut-off looking shorts. The red lettering white LEVI’S tab is quite uncommon to find. I’ve been looking for this specific shorts for a while and finally found it in an ideal size and condition.

Vintage 1960s LEVI’S twill trousers

60s white tab Levi’s is one of my favourite casual trousers, it marked the date when Levi’s started producing trousers other than denim for the youth and college students as a growing segment for their products. The new, slimmer silhouettes of the 1960s inspired Slim Fits, a 5-pocket twill trouser for young men. Teenagers called them White Levi’s because no one knew what to call blue jeans that weren’t blue. You’ll also see Levi’s marketed these trousers as “White Levi’s” on the flashers.
