the Teton Center Punch (north) — 48 rugged miles of scrambling and traversing the hydrographic divide of the range. spectacular, challenging, inspiring.

I’ve lived at the base of these mountains on & off for my entire life, and in some ways I feel like I just truly met the Tetons for the first time. wowza.

The CMSki || Got adventurous with @jimmiryan and @beppeamodio.

We climbed the CMC on Mount Moran and skied the Skillet Glacier to link two classic lines in Grand Teton National Park. Not only that, we then climbed the backside of the East Horn before downclimbing and rappelling onto the Falling Ice Glacier to ski back to the canoe.

We used every tool in the toolbox to make this happen. It was a full team effort for the send.

A probable first of this linkup according to Teton historians, but more importantly, what a wild and fun day.

I’ve been looking at this link-up for a while now. It made more sense than anything I’ve ever attempted with @claytonherrmann and @beppeamodio - I’d even go so far as to say I’d recommend it to a friend.

I checked in with the Teton historians and the climb-to-ski enthusiasts, and so far it looks like this is a first….but as always, it’s possible some silent crusher completed this link-up and told no one. Under the rim of the Grand Canyon, the distance from even myself seemed to grow large, showing just how small I am. And yet, in the quiet, the further we were from the world, the larger the small things became. Things like friendship, connection, care, mindfulness, support, adventure, softness, all loomed over us as giants, ever present in our daily lives, larger than life and even larger, still, than the memories back indoors.

These lessons have been carried back with us, with cracked and calloused hands, from this magical place, by a group of people among whom I’ll always cherish these memories. by @beppeamodio

This summer, the @FisherCreative crew had the chance to get out in our home mountains for a shoot with @Leki.outdoor. We hiked late into the night, camped in a quiet alpine forest, and were back on the trail at sunrise to catch the first light. There’s nothing better than being creative in the mountains that inspire us most.

Most wildfires are started by people, which means most wildfires can be avoided.
Here are a few tips to keep Jackson Hole safe, not smokey:

1. Check the fire danger rating in your area.
2. Only build fires in designated fire-rings.
3. Keep your fire to a manageable size, and monitor it closely.
4. Drown your campfire before you leave it!

About skiing Thor Peak || Canoe to camp to ski with @beppeamodio and @jimmiryan . An epicly long day across multiple bodies of water, schwacking through dense grizzly bear country, a sketchy river crossing, and then up 5k feet of scree and rock to one of the more remote and taller peaks in the Tetons — all to, well, for me at least, downclimb.

I normally pride myself on skiing the things I photograph, but I wasn’t feeling it this day. It was steep — proper steep — riddled with rocks, double fall line, with a mix of rotten snow and bulletproof ice, all hanging over a thousand-foot cliff. I downclimbed 90% of the line. I’ve never seen @jimmiryan have to try so hard — side-stepping with skis on while swinging ice tools into bulletproof ice. If you’re trying to make sense of it, it doesn’t make sense. I skied just enough to make it to the massive cliff, then we downclimbed as much of the cliff as we could until reaching an anchor, and rappelled through cascading water.

From there, we scree skied a couple thousand feet, schwacked back through grizz country, then paddled two lakes in the dark while it snowed. 18 hours of chaos. But damn, it was fun. Mostly. by @beppeamodio
