I made a Still life that was represented on a table. The still life was drawn from an aerial perspective. The drawings are based on a book that’s called “Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Seas” written by Jules Verne.

Beppe Geerts (°1999, BE) is a visual artist and illustrator who graduated from LUCA Ghent (2024) with a background in graphic design (2021). Her work often starts from observation, walks and sketches, and shows a fascination with everyday objects, antiques and nostalgic elements. Her colourful, layered compositions combine figuration with strong perspectives and classical themes such as still life, portraiture and landscape. Structure, simplicity and narrative layering are recurring themes in her oeuvre. Geerts has exhibited at S.M.A.K., Texture and Theater aan Zee.

So grateful that I got to be part of the second edition of PLAYGROUNDS, a group exhibition in Ghent with 70 other artists. The first edition was in Antwerp, where will PLAYGROUNDS be the next time? Looking forward to take part again!

For Bonjour Bushu, a Chinese illustration Festival I made five new A3 drawings with oilpastel. I got selected as an alumni of LUCA School of Arts Ghent. Many thanks to everyone involved in the process.
