The ultimate challenge of 4 days of paddling from Paarl to Velddrif in July

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

ARE YOU TOUGH ENOUGH?

The 2027 Berg River Canoe Marathon will mark the 65th edition of the Western Cape’s premier river race. Four days of racing in a K1 is not for the faint-hearted. It demands endurance, skill, fitness, tactical nous and, above all, mental toughness.

Since the first race in 1962, canoe designs have evolved dramatically, with paddles transformed in both shape and construction, but one thing has never changed is the old-fashioned vasbyt needed to paddle from Paarl to Velddrif.

The 2027 race dates are provisionally set for July 14-17 which leaves just one simple question: Are YOU tough enough? by @bergrivercanoe
