In extremely exciting news, our launch issue of Green Isles is now out ('like a New Stateman for the Green movement'), available to buy at Green Party conference this weekend. So if you're in Brighton, swing by the Green Isles stall in the exhibition centre, pick up a copy and a badge, and sign up to make sure there are more issues in future. #greenparty #gpew #greenmovement #greenpartyconference by @berlin.matt

We miss Ciro. He was guest at our Canine Concierge. This is his story ❤️ 😭😭 ❤️ by @berlin.matt

We finally found an urn for Tinky's ashes. We have it on our coffee table so we can say hello when we get home. We miss her demanding food before we've even taken off our coats.

This photo is from a few years ago when she looked like a toy cat.

Coming soon! A reel celebrating her long life and best moments

The 1st in a series at Green Isles briefly looking at the different strands of thought within Green politics. This week, ecofeminism, connecting the exploitation of women and nature by patriarchal capitalism.

It's out! My first Green Isles post proper.

People think that Green politics is just woolly liberalism, doing nice things and recycling.

But it's so much more. In this Substack post I argue that Green politics and ecosocialism show how the many crises we are battling today (poverty, inequality, the climate crisus etc) are many faces of one assault on our communities across the UK.

"These crises are not coincidences or policy failures—they’re features of capitalism. Privatisation extracts wealth and externalises harm. Inequality is necessary to maintain low wages and discipline labour to maximise profit and shareholder value. Short-term profit is prioritised over long-term sustainability, while the GDP growth imperative drives ecological overshoot. And democracy becomes limited to protect property rights and profits.

"Ecosocialism is connecting the crises and placing people at the heart of our political economy, within the acknowledged limit of planetary boundaries.

"And it is this acknowledgement that then forces us to think far more creatively about creating a comprehensive story of national renewal so that, in the coming years, we can not just survive but thrive on these green isles."

We are becoming big fans of @lancastercity.fc women's team. So is @drfoxythepom who enjoyed keeping our knees warm while we watched The Dolly Blues beat Workington 3-1!

And because Penrith lost today we move to the top of the Lancashire Women's County League Championship division 🏆. Well done Dolly Blue Ladies! Onwards and upwards - Premier Division here we come!

And who knows, maybe Dr Foxy will become the team mascot! by @berlin.matt
