Some buildings are more than just buildings.

Before becoming Fotografiska Berlin, this place was a department store, an AEG technology centre, and later one of Berlin’s most legendary artist-occupied spaces: Kunsthaus Tacheles.

After the fall of the Berlin Wall, artists took over the abandoned building and turned it into a chaotic, experimental hub for art, music, performance and nightlife.

Today, it houses Fotografiska — but traces of its past are still everywhere.

Graffiti, raw concrete, strange corners, layers of history… somehow the building itself feels like part of the exhibition.

And honestly, that might be my favourite thing about it. 🖤

A little staycation in our own city 🤍

We spent two nights at SANA Berlin and honestly, it was such a nice little escape without actually leaving Berlin.

Modern rooms, a beautiful restaurant for dinner, and a breakfast spread that was definitely one of our highlights — plus, on weekends you can enjoy breakfast until noon, which we loved. 🥐☕️

There’s also a gym with city views and a spa with an indoor pool, sauna and steam room, so we got to mix good food with a little training and recovery time.

Sometimes all you need is to experience your own city from a different perspective. ✨

Hidden inside a former pharmacy in Berlin, Winterfeld Chocolaterie feels like the kind of place you accidentally stumble upon and immediately want to keep to yourself.✨

The old pharmacy details are still there, but instead of medicines and prescriptions, you’ll find handmade chocolates, pralines and all kinds of sweet little remedies for grey winter days.

So if Berlin starts feeling a little too cold, dark and gloomy, you know where to go.
