Found a well-maintained Guardians of the Galaxy pinball machine at Lenau-Stuben, a Berlin pub. Completed 7 of the 8 missions, missing just a few shots to finish the final one — and made it onto the high-score table.

Personally, I didn’t really enjoy playing this machine — although I have to admit that I never fully understood the rules, so that may well be part of the reason. The machine itself is impressive, but it simply didn’t click with me. Stern Pinball’s JAWS was released in 2024 and brings Steven Spielberg’s classic 1975 movie to the pinball world.

Jersey Jack Pinball’s Elton John is certainly not the first time Elton has been connected to pinball. His appearance as the Pinball Wizard in The Who’s Tommy led to Bally’s Wizard! in 1975/76, followed by Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy in 1976. Data East later brought The Who’s Tommy Pinball Wizard to pinball in 1994, featuring Elton’s iconic performance of “Pinball Wizard” from the movie. Now, almost 50 years after the original Bally machines, JJP gives Elton John his first full-scale dedicated pinball machine.

I often watched the movie in my childhood. Bally Flash Gordon, released in 1981, with 10,000 units produced. It was Bally’s first production pinball with a split-level playfield and the first to use the new Squawk & Talk sound system. Early production machines also used a different sound setup, while the high-intensity backbox strobe was removed later in production after customer complaints.

Balls that have somehow found their way into places where they were never meant to be. Lost from the game… Red & Ted’s Road Show is from 1994.

The first time in the wizard mode of the Black Knight and I‘ve already defeated the Black Knight. A great win and a great feeling! Who could also defeat the Black Knight?

Williams Stardust (1971) is a classic electro-mechanical pinball machine designed by Steve Kordek with artwork by Christian Marche. Featuring four-player gameplay, twin flippers, pop bumpers and fast, straightforward rules, it captures the timeless charm of early 1970s pinball. 5455 units were produced.
