A local landmark in Berlin Steglitz that reflects Berlin’s mix of faith, history, and architecture. If you’re exploring the area, it’s worth a short visit, especially if you enjoy quiet spaces and historic design! Big Thanks to @travelpixelz for discovering this beautiful place! 📍 Schloßstraße / Berlin Steglitz ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ • • • #berlin #berlincity #berliner #visitberlin #deutschland #germany #europe #europa #travel #photography #architecturephotography #berlinarchitecture #berlintravel #europeandestinations #europedestinations #architecturelovers by @berlinsidewalk
Fall magic at Schlachtensee 🍂 I wandered between pines and beeches glowing in every shade of autumn, and Berlin suddenly felt a world away 🌲 Take a deep breath, kick through the leaves, and soak it all in, the perfect location for a day trip to escape the noisy city life! Good to know: 🚆 Easy to reach: S-Bahn S1 to Schlachtensee 🥾 About 5,5km loop, mostly dirt paths 🌳 Best light is in the morning or late afternoon ☕ Cafés and kiosks near the station and along the shore for a coffee break. 📍 Schlachtensee, Berlin #schlachtensee #berlin #autumninberlin #fallcolor #autumn by @berlinsidewalk
Down a hidden door, through the dark, and into one of the strangest, most beautiful places in Berlin ✨ Deep beneath Berlin, there’s a network of vaulted cellars, dark, winding, a little confusing. In each hidden chamber, an installation is waiting for you, light, sound and art in places that were never meant for visitors 👀 Himmel unter Berlin (“Sky under Berlin”) is something between an exhibition and an underground gathering. It’s raw, cold and improvised, and it feels like 1990s Berlin. Down there, you get the feeling you’re experiencing something that officially doesn’t even exist ☄️ It’s one of my favorite exhibitions, and I’m still thinking about it. Every time, I come out of the dark a little amazed. ❗When: Oct 8 - 25, 2026 | Ticket link in Bio! And check @himmelunterberlin for more information❗ 📍 Berlin, Germany #Berlin #Germany #himmelunterberlin #visualarts #visitberlin by @berlinsidewalk
Tucked behind a quiet gate at the end of a a narrow passageway at Große Hamburger Straße sits Berlin's only surviving baroque church 👀 Built in 1712–1713 and designed by Philipp Gerlach, the church was founded by Queen Sophie Luise, after whom it was named. Its elegant 69m Baroque tower was added later in the 18th century and is the only surviving Baroque church tower in Berlin🕯️ Inside, it's all airy neo-Baroque charm after a 19th-century renovation, but the original pulpit, organ, and baptismal font are still there. Today, Sophienkirche continues to be a place of worship as well as a popular venue for concerts, thanks in part to its remarkable acoustics and Schuke organ ⛪ Definitely worth a wander if you're ever in Mitte and want a break from the tourist crowds! ✨ 📍 Sophienkirche, Berlin #Sophienkirche #Berlin #Mitte #Church #architecture by @berlinsidewalk
I had the incredible opportunity to spend an afternoon at the Zeiss-Großplanetarium / Zeiss Grand Planetarium in Berlin 🪐 The building itself is a piece of history: it was built as one of the last representative buildings of the former GDR for Berlin's 750th anniversary in 1987, and it sits right on the edge of Ernst-Thälmann Park in Prenzlauer Berg. Its striking 30-metre dome dominates the Berlin skyline and makes it one of the largest planetariums in Europe ☄️ The highlight was a full-dome show taking us on a journey through the stars and the universe. The centerpiece is a star projector that retracts into the floor and can project over 9,500 stars and the Milky Way onto the dome 🌌 Huge thank you to @planetarium.berlin and @exploreberlinwithus for the invitation and for making this such a magical, unforgettable day! ✨ 📍 Zeiss-Großplanetarium, Berlin #Berlin #VisitBerlin #BerlinArchitecture #Zeiss #Astronomy by @berlinsidewalk
If you ever needed a reminder that Potsdam deserves at least as much love as Berlin, this is it! Fairytale towers and royal gardens, Babelsberg palace park is picturesquely located on the banks of the Havel River 📍 Its main attraction is Schloss Babelsberg, the neo-Gothic palace built for Prince Wilhelm of Prussia (later Kaiser Wilhelm I) and his wife Princess Augusta of Saxe-Weimar 🏰 Rising above it all is the Flatow Tower, built between 1853 and 1856 with stones from the former princely estate in Flatow, standing an impressive 46 metres tall as the park's crown jewel and one-time imperial guesthouse. Definitely a must visit when visiting Berlin and Potsdam! 🧳 📍 Park Babelsberg, Potsdam #Berlin #Potsdam #Babelsberg #Brandenburg by @berlinsidewalk
One of the Louvre Pyramid architect's masterpieces hides behind a Baroque facade at Berlin's Museumsinsel 👀 The Pei Building is tucked behind the Deutsches Historisches Museum's Baroque Zeughaus, a total architectural plot twist! Designed by legendary architect I.M. Pei (the same mind behind the Louvre Pyramid) and completed in 2003, it's built almost entirely of glass and steel and the structure features a dramatic spiral staircase and a soaring atrium that floods the space with natural light ✨ A striking contrast to the museum's centuries-old original building next door. Pei designed it to feel light and transparent, a deliberate architectural statement of openness after German reunification. It now houses the museum's special exhibitions, but honestly, the building itself is the exhibit! 🪩 Huge thanks to @exploreberlinwithus and @dhmberlin for the invite and for letting me explore this beautiful building! 🙏 📍 German Historical Museum - Pei Building #Berlin #Germany #Museumsinsel #Mitte #Museum by @berlinsidewalk
This is hands down one of the best views in town 🗼✨ At 368 meters, the Berlin TV Tower is the tallest structure in Germany, built between 1965 and 1969. Over 50 years later, it's still THE spot to see Berlin from above, from the Reichstag to the Spree winding through the city. Huge thank you to @exploreberlinwithus and @berliner_fernsehturm for inviting me to experience this iconic view 🙏 📍 Fernsehturm Berlin #Berlin #Germany #tvtower #tvtowerberlin by @berlinsidewalk
One of my favorite exhibitions in Berlin is back again this year with its newest installment, Dark Rooms: Veins! 🖤 For 3 weeks only, an old cinema complex dreams up a new, intense art experience, with 10 international light and sound artists presenting their installations. These exhibitions are always a highlight of my year, and they always feature some of the most amazing art installations I've ever seen! ✨ Big thanks to @thedarkroomsexhibition for this amazing experience! 📍 Berlin | Secret Location #berlin #germany #thedarkroomsexhibition #immersiveart #berlinart by @berlinsidewalk
I got invited to one of Berlin's most iconic buildings, to explore the newly opened (2023) Fotografiska photo museum and its current exhibition: Anton Corbijn: Corbijn, Anton 👀 Fotografiska Berlin, spreading across 5,500 square meters inside the iconic Tacheles building on Oranienburger Straße, is the fourth branch of the Swedish photography museum, bringing world-class contemporary photography right into the heart of the German capital 📸 The building carries a rich and complex history, once a department store, it later became the legendary Kunsthaus Tacheles artists' squat. The iconic graffiti created between 1990 and 2012 was carefully preserved as part of the renovation, making every corner a layer of living history 🎨 Huge thank you to @fotografiska.berlin and @easycitypassberlin for the invite and the tour, it was truly interesting and exciting, and an experience I won't forget anytime soon! 🙏 📍 Fotografiska, Oranienburger Straße, Berlin #Berlin #Germany #Fotografiska #Corbijn by @berlinsidewalk
Neukölln from the rooftops! Honestly didn't expect the views to be this good, beautiful architecture, stunning street murals, and the Fernsehturm watches your every move from the horizon 👀 A truly memorable experience that reminded me just how much character this city holds! A big thank you to @artberlin_touren and @easycitypassberlin for the kind invite and the opportunity to see Berlin from a different angle 🙏 📍 Kalle Halle, Neukölln, Berlin #berlin #germany #neukölln #streetart #rooftop by @berlinsidewalk
Taking a walk along the Reichstagufer on a sunny day is an absolute must if you're visiting Berlin! 🌞 This riverside promenade runs along the Spree in the heart of the German capital, right next to the iconic Reichstag building, home to the German parliament. The area is packed with history and landmarks within easy walking distance and a great starting point for a longer riverside walk 🚶 Head east and you'll eventually reach Museum Island, one of Berlin's most celebrated cultural destinations 📸 📍 Reichstagufer, Berlin #Berlin #germany #mitte #bundestag #spree by @berlinsidewalk
