From the moment we walked in, every bite we tasted and every corner we discovered filled us with joy. The beauty, simplicity and zen spirit of the place have been executed to perfection.

Almost fifteen years ago, I picked you up from the streets of Denpasar.

I thought I was rescuing you.
I did not know then how much you would give back to me.

You grew from that little street puppy into one of the most extraordinary souls I have ever known. Gentle, loyal, intuitive, and so deeply present that many times I wondered if you were more human than dog.

For the past year, we have tried everything, doctors, treatments, medications, hoping each time that something would make you better.

But your body is tired now.

Today, I have to make the hardest decision love asks of us, to let you go, not because I am ready, but because I cannot ask you to suffer simply because I am not ready to lose you.

Almost fifteen years together will never feel like enough.

You came from the streets with nothing, yet somehow you gave me everything.

Thank you, Kilo, for finding your way into my life.

What a privilege it has been to love you.
What a privilege to have been loved by you.

Run free, my beautiful boy.

You will always be part of me.

FAMILY

Blood makes us relatives.
Love makes us family.

And family goes far beyond the human kind.

Sometimes it has fur.
Sometimes four paws.
Sometimes tiny hooves.

And always, the purest kind of love.

Nusa, Nina, Yara and Beka are five months old today.

So this morning, we celebrated the only way we know how - together.

BEYOND WORDS

These are the last photographs of Kore and Nalu.

I look at them now and still find it difficult to believe they are gone.

Losing them has been one of the most painful experiences of my life.

I miss their faces.
I miss their presence.
I miss simply knowing they were here.

There are some losses for which words will never be enough.

I loved them deeply.
I still do.

And I miss them beyond words.

ENOUGH

For 32 years, I lived and breathed fashion.
From 1986, brands and their seasons took me across borders and it culminated in my last role as President of CK Calvin Klein.

Somewhere along the way, the joy began to dissipate…
I found myself asking a simple question:

If it no longer gives me pleasure, why keep on doing it?

I began to question a world built around making and consuming more and more of what we don’t really need.

My life was surrounded by more…

More seasons
More collections
More waste

And I began to understand the cost, not only to myself, but to the planet we share.

So I walked away.

I didn’t want any more.

I wanted enough.

some friends stand beside you as you begin something new

Sekar has been one of those friends
she has supported me with her encouragement, her generosity, and her unwavering belief in lodgeinthewoods and farmfood

to see her walk through our doors with a group of her friends,
to watch the table fill with conversation, laughter, and connection, brought me much joy

this is what I hoped farmfood would become - a place where food brings people together
