Growing Up in Walnut Creek

Cyanotype quilt collage on canvas with stitched and beaded details

This piece showcases a series of images I have collected from my childhood. I chose to make cyanotypes of these images due to the history and deep beautiful blue that comes with cyanotype printing. Being able to see the image wash into the fabric reminds me of my faint memories from my childhood. Each sibling is pinned with a crucifix including myself since I was surrounded by catholic iconography as a child in a private catholic school.

1st Wheel Thrown Project done!!!
Super happy with how my stuff came out and I’m so glad I made so much. I was so so excited to get back in school specifically for this class and it has been so much fun! (Kinda wishing I was a ceramic emphasis)
